Although I haven't been ripped off by this company, I was intrigued by all the complaints and looked it up on the Better Business Bureau website. I was apalled to find that the BBB gives this company a good rating, but I did find this that could be used to your advantage. Pay close attention to the last couple of sentences:

"Consumers receive information regarding a sweepstakes entry. Upon contact, the firm attempts to sell magazines and, in most cases, charges purchases to consumers' credit cards. The company sends consumers a confrimation letter setting forth the subscription(s) and terms, and gives consumers the right to cancel as required. The company does not consider that a consumer has entered into a contract until the cancellation right has expired. The company conducts a cash sweepstakes known as the all-cash sweepstakes. From time to time the company has entered into an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance or Consent Order in various states, agreeing not to violate specified consumers laws. On October 21, 1998, this company entered into a Consent Order with the State of Georgia regarding the Georgia Fair Business Practice Act. The Better Business Bureau has obtained an agreement from the company that it will make a full refund to any consumer who registers a justified complaint with the Better Business Bureau even if it is after the expiration of the consumer's right to cancel. The company has also stated that customers can call and speak to Clay Hurst in their office at 1-800-527-4392 or e-mail him at churst@cmsmags.com for resolution before filing a complaint with our office.
