My wife received a phone call from a woman representing State Carpet offering a special promotion on carpet cleaning; one room and hallway for $42. she accepted this offer.

Ohad Gilbi arrived to do the cleaning. His equipment was portable and not capable of doing a proper cleaning. Ohad worked on a couple of spots and said it would take special chemicals to clean the carpet and it would cost $390. My wife refused, but relented and did write a check to Ohad for $350. Ohad left the carpet still very soiled and soggy wet. The carpet stayed wet for several days.

I made several attempts to contact the company by phone and after being cut off and put on indefinite hold several times I finally made contact with David Levine, a supervisor. I registered my complaint, but received no satisfaction. I made several more calls over a period of several days and talked with another supervisor, Mike Salazar, again with no satisfaction.

We finally contacted our home owners insurance carrier. They sent out a restoration company to check the situation. The carpet was still wet, the pad was wet and the flooring underneath was wet in places and the house had an offensive smell. Ultimately the renovators recommended removing the carpet which was done. They installed 2 fans and a dehumidifier which ran for most of 2 days to dry the sub-floor.

We are currently attempting to find recourse and waiting for the new carpet.
