My experience was positive with this company

AUTHOR: Cindi - (United States)

POSTED: Friday, April 20, 2018

THE TRAINING VIDEOS
I saw a free dog training video by Chet Womach giving a sample tip that was so effective with my bouncy, hard-to-train dogs (3 of them) that I immediately bought one of the programs. This is the best training I have found for my three hooligans and I would purchase again and would also recommend to others. This training program is solid and not contrary to any of the best training practices. It's just explained better for laymen like myself. The videos are very approachable and actionable. I was able to see results on my first try! Honestly, I can't complain about these training methods or the presentation at all.

MY PURCHASING EXPERIENCE
My purchasing options were clear. I read them carefully (as one should) and got what I expected. I was charged the amount I agreed upon and nothing more. There was nothing untoward about my purchasing experience and I feel I can confidently purchase again. I intend to buy another program before year's end.

THE MARKETING
I'll admit, I'm always suspicious of anything that marketers use "long copy" to sell, despite that I can't say I've been ripped off by any I've chosen. So yes, their marketing seems a little bit sleezy, but again... so does any other long copy sales pitch.

SUMMARY

  • I saw effectiveness with every training tip in the purchased program, not just the free one.
  • I was charged the appropriate amount of money and nothing more.
  • I got 100% of what I selected in my purchasing options and was charged the amount I agreed upon.
  • There was nothing shady about my purchasing experience.
  • I would buy again and would recommend the program to people who trust me.

Just not at all accurate

AUTHOR: Leeron - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, November 02, 2017

I'm a dog trainer and couldn't disagree more with this comment.  Regardless of the internet prowess, marketing strategies or similar ventures, the content of the material contained in this program are VERY high quality, valuable, accurate and effective.  They do NOT conflict with basic dog training protocols or with dog cognitive behavoir science and enthological principles.   Chet, the face of the marketing isn't even involved in any of the trainging modules save adding in extra footage to help consumers undertand what the trainers in the videos are demonstrating.  Perhaps in the bird community your comments are valid but assuming that anything this person supports carries the same value is short sighted.

Great System, High Integrity

AUTHOR: Leeron - (United States)

POSTED: Thursday, November 02, 2017

I work with dogs 5-6 days a week and use these techniques all the time.  They are both very effective, fast, fun and safe to use.  The company is solid as it gets.  I usually get replies to comments with in a few hours, the next day is longest I've had to wait.  And what more, I even purchased a supplemental program at to compliment one of the existing programs I had already purchased and was working through.  As it turns out the new program that I purchased was just a module in the master program I already paid for and was currently working through.  I contacted them and explained the circumstances, let them know I wouldn't have purchased the supplemental modules had I known they were identicle to that which I already owned.  24 hrs later they refunded my credit card for the amount of the supplemental program I unintentionally purchased.  Super high integrity, fast responses, I'm planning on purchasing and working through all the programs they offer.  Outstanding information, easy to understand and apply, very high value.

Good training

AUTHOR: Jularc - ()

POSTED: Friday, December 05, 2014

I purchased his dog training program and I feel that it is very good. I have also talked to a professional trainer and he gave me very similar advice. Chet does mention that if you have a puppy a good beginner training with a trainer can be helpful. A dog is like kids, takes patience and is work. I think too many people want a quick fix and do not want to do the work. If that is the case then this is not for you. When I saw that he went by 2 different names I of course was wondering why, it really does not matter if the training works and it does then that is all that matters. You are buying a training program for a dog not a persons life and story and he states not one that is from a puppy mill as that can make a difference in training. I do hope you received your money back and maybe having a dog is not for you.

Con artist goes by different names

AUTHOR: Robert - (United States of America)

POSTED: Saturday, May 26, 2012

Check this out... apparently he is involved in the parenting video business as well, only under a different name, "Mac Strider". So he purports to be an experienced parrot trainer, dog trainer, and now, apparently, is an authority on child rearing. Only, he's doing that under a different name. This counts among "things that make you go
hmm..."

Check out this video, he's wearing the same t-shirt, is behind the same table, and the camera is at the same angle as in a parrot-training video. This is disturbing to me. I've posted both videos here:

http://www.betterparenting.com/when-do-babies-sit-up/

http://www.birdtricks.com/blog/shower-speech-training/

I'm willing to bet he made both videos on the same occasion. This guy gives me the creeps. I wouldn't buy anything from either "Chet Womach" or "Mac Strider"

Are You Sure?

AUTHOR: jmacek07 - (United States of America)

POSTED: Monday, February 07, 2011

I know Chet well and my company has done work for him in various arenas in the past and I have found him to be extremely honest. First let me address your claim you didn't know they were pdf files. This is the order form on his site that you must complete in order to purchase from him:

https://www.thedogtrainingsecret.com/secure/checkout2.php

You might notice there are three options when purchasing. The down-loadable version, the physical version, and both.  Not sure where the confusion comes from. However judging from grammar error and spelling mistakes in your report I'm guessing that maybe English isn't your first language and you might not have understood what you were buying before your purchased?

I'm curious if you ever got your refund from Chet (not Chat). I'd be willing to bet just about anything he honored his money back guarantee when you asked for a refund.

More to the Womach scam

AUTHOR: Chris - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, December 04, 2009

Chet and Dave Womach of birdtricks are well known in the parrot community as internet marketers posing as "professional bird trainers".

Their questionable marketing practices and poor training advice have earned them a very poor reputation among knowledgeable bird owners and actual professional trainers. It is not uncommon to hear from parrot people of similar experiences as reported in this person's dog experience report. I highly discourage anyone from doing business with them, or anyone who promotes them, in any way.

You can read more about them at www.birdtricksters.com
