My wife had checked out refrigerators at Sears earlier and was set on a 21 cubic feet refrigerator that was on sale. We went to Snell's Appliances to price check. We told Jim Snell that the one at Sears was 21 cu. ft. and showed him the Sears brochure.
Jim asked us if we had a deep freeze, and we said we did. He then said that we therefore really did not need a large freezer space on our refrigerator. This made sense to us and we still agree that we do not need a large freezer space in our refrigerator.
However Jim Snell then showed us a 18 cubic feet refrigerator and told us that it had a very small freezer to allow for more
refrigeration space. He said that it therefore had the same
refrigeration space as the 21 cu. ft. refrigerator that my wife had priced at Sears.
Upon delivery, it seemed very small and was hard to fit everything we always had in our old refrigerator. After reorganizing and reorganizing, it was just too small. We found out 1 month and 2 weeks after the purchase that he sold us 13.9 cu. ft. of refrigeration space MUCH smaller than the 15.2 cu. ft. of refrigeration space at Sears.
Upon calling to clarify the misinformation and to figure out a way to rectify the situation. Jim replied "There's not a hell of a lot I can do".
He became abusive and did agree to take it back if we gave
him the refrigeration space of the Sears brand. When I called him back with the information, he said he wouldn't take it back and didn't know there were 21 cu. ft. refrigerators with larger
refrigeration spaces than the 18 cu. ft. model that he sold us. He also yelled at me and said he no longer wanted to do any business with us any more (I used to occassionally rent his plane).
The refrigerator Jim Snell sold us is a Frigidaire Gallery. Other appliance stores have the 21 cu. ft. model, so how can he lie and say he didn't know such refrigerator sizes existed. Plus he is the one that said the refrigerator space would be the same as the 21 cu. ft. model at Sears.
Jim Snell is a dishonest and rude business man. In the beginning we would have been happy to exchange the 18 cu. ft. refrigerator for one of his 21 cu. ft. refrigerators. However he has been so unprofessional and lied so much that all we want is our money back because that is the fair thing for him to do. Customer's satisfaction should be guaranteed.
