I purchased this company's top of the line water softener five years ago.

The purchase price was about $450.

During the five years I have owned this product, I have paid more than twice the purchase price to service the product. My actual maintenance costs have been close to $1,000.

This 'system' is run by a computerized controller, and I have had to replace this controller three times in five years. Most recently, I replaced the controller within a 12 month period and the manufacturer offers no recourse. They do not stand behind their product.

Not only that, I just spoke with their customer service supervisor, and he told me that there is nothing he can do, he just follows the company rules. He was rather glib about all of this.

My question here is ...why have a supervisor if there is nothing you can do? It seems like the supervisor is supervising nothing!!

Here's some news from an experienced customer....one that would never purchase their product again.

Not only do they provide an inferior product that needs expensive maintenance on a regular basis, they don't stand behind the product and don't tell you any of this in their literature. The only 'warranty' provided is on plastic...not very useful.

My suggestion...DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM WATERBOSS.
