Open Road Mazda
I purchased a new 1991 MAZDA MPV V6 loaded. Had numerous problems from Brake recalls, front tire ware and engine problems. At 38,000 Miles the drivers side motor head gasket blew right after the warrantee expired. I knew of two other people with MPV head gasket problems but Mazda never cknowledged this problem.

Open Road Mazda of Edison New Jersey did the repair work. They totally destroyed the MPV, it was never the same. 21 miles of driving (after they replaced the head gasket) the oil pump stopped. Although they changed the pump for free they never
acknowledged it was due to the fact that they did not change the oil after replacing the head gasket.

A metal shaving from the head jammed the oil pump. (Changing the oil was something they should have done). After replacing the oil
pump I picked up the MPV there was a loud clanking noise in the engine compartment. They found that the timing chain guard had broke. Open Road Mazda could not understand how this could have gotten past their service center quality control.

While the car was being worked on it was left outside. When I picked up the MPV the glove compartment was trashed with items missing. When I questioned the service advisor "daw I don't know" was all I got for an answer. The technician (why do they call them tech's, they are far from it) painted the numbers 1-6 on the intake manifold so that he could put the engine back the right way.

Their quality control never removed the numbers, I guess
they wanted me to be reminded of their service every time I opened the hood. I immediately cleaned off the manifold
and drove the car to a Nissan dealer and traded it in.
