Well I went to Bill Heard originally for a used 99 Ford Ranger, and the check engine light came on the second day, so I returned it and they offered to let me pick another car. The salesman pointed me towards a 1999 Malibu LS. I drove it and was pleased. I had the car for three months and the battery died. The service order I got said the battery leaked badly and there was acid all over the engine compartment. I thought they would have checked this before selling me the car.

When I got the car back my radio would not work. I went back to the dealership and they said I needed a code to deactivate theftlock on the radio. I told them I just bought it used, I have no idea of the code. They tried to charge me 60.00 to reset it! Well I called the GMAC customer assistance center and they gave me a universal code.

After driving for maybe 8,000 miles my brakes began grinding. I went to Just Brakes in Canton GA and had to cough up 600.00 for new shoes, pads, rotors, and having the calipers rebuilt not to mention I had to buy a new master cylinder, it was leaking fluid and causing the brakes on the front driver side to not release after braking.

Now here is the kicker. The transmission died at 48,000 miles. I could not believe it. Another 2,000.00 out of pocket! Now I have paid 18,000.00 for a 15,000.00 car!Bill Heard said that they checked this vehicle for any defects and it was a certified used car.

They said this car you can keep for years, come back and let us put a sunroof in it. HA! The salesmen are rude, the finance people even worse. Chevrolet says they cannot help me because I bought it used and should have checked all this myself.

And because I didn't have maintanence records from the dealership. I've had the car less than 10,000 miles! What maintainance? 2 or 3 oil changes, some tire rotation. This car was a dud, but GA has no lemon law for used cars. Someone help! Do you think I got a lemon?

And you trust a car dealer.

First off no where did you say you had the car checked out by your mechanic. Then you state that the first car you got from them had a problem and they let you exchange it. Did it not occur to you that there may be a problem with any other car there. You complain about the brakes and you take it to Just Brakes which is listed here for tons of complaints and that they have known to damage cars in their care. YOu have the car for 1000's of miles and then something goes wrong after a repair at a shop known for RIP-OFFS and you go back and blame the dealer. They are correct it is your problem. Learn to take some responsibility in life.
