Hi Concerned Customers,
I am a former employee of a Toyota Dealership. I worked in the used car dept and on the regular repair side. The place where I worked had a Toyota Rent a Car service. It was common practice to NOT SERVICE these cars with oil changes or any other kind of service becuase it cost the dealer money.

So a mechanic could be standing around doing nothing and not allowed to service these
cars. The cars would commonly get there first oil change after 20,000 miles. I would pull the drain plug and black sludge would oooze out slowly. I was told to keep my mouth shut of coarse or loose my job. These cars where often Toyota Certified and sold to customers without concern for quality or honesty.

The main concern of coarse was to pay the mechanics very little and make as much profit off car sales as possible. I spoke to the General Manager at the time and explained this was penny wise and pound foolish and in the long run would give the dealer and Toyota a
bad name. The General Manager gave me lip service but nothing ever changed while I was there. I hope this helps someone. I am a anonomous person here as that is safest. ex-mechanic

Simply not true

Toyota maintains strict guidelines for their participating TRAC (Toyota Rental Cars) dealers. One of those guidelines is strict adherence to Toyota's maintenance program. On top of that these vehicles are later offered as Toyota Certified Used Vehicles that the participating dealership has to offer for retail.

If this were true, the participating dealership would have lost its ability to participate in the TRAC program back in 2003 when this original report was filed. If is now 2009 and this particular TRAC dealer is one of the most Toyota-Rewarded dealerships in the nation. The same management that was in charge of TRAC in 2003 is still in charge today too. There have been no investigations by Toyota, the Better Business Bureau, or any other agency into this TRAC facility.

Please write the original (6 year old) "Ripoff Report" off to a disgruntled ex-employee.
