I went to Drivetime and got a 2003 Pontiac Montana. Priced for $ 14,632. Ended up with a total price of about 23,000. I put down $ 2,000 and drove off the lot. First problem was that it took 3 temp tags before I received my real tags.
Ok now we all know that they advertise about doing a 53 point check? or something like that.
Well exactly 3 weeks to the day, my van broke down. I needed a new battery, alternator, and starter. They towed it to their repair shop on N. Dale Mabry and tried to charge me $ 900. I cussed them all out because they knew that I just had a baby and was on maternity leave and I am so glad that my newborn was not in the car at the time, nor were my 3 other children.
They kept my van for 3 days and almost made my husband miss his flight which was later that day, and of course I received no replacement or rental for the time they had it.
I got them to cover all of the costs but it took some boo-hooing and screaming.
Ok so now 5 months later my van starts cutting off if you were going less than 40 mph. They of course didn't want to hear about it. I took it to their mechanic and was told that it was the Air Flow Mass that was shot.
I paid $ 400 to have it replaced.
Less than a week later it was still cutting off. So I wasted $ 400 for nothing.
Now it's about 10 months since I had it and the cutting off got worse. I took it to a Pontiac dealership and come to find out I need a whole new engine.
Drivetime told me that I needed to call their repair number and see what they could do for me which was nothing. They wanted to have me make payments on another engine unless it wasn't worth replacing. I asked if they could put me in another vehicle and transfer my loan to that. They said no it wouldn't be worth it for them.
So now we are stuck trying to get to places in a vehicle that could blow up or die at anytime.
PLEASE include me in this lawsuit. I know we were all Screwed, Ruined and Tattooed by Drivetime and I believe it's time to show them they can't get away with this.
