With $495 you can go to Best Buy or a car audio shop, and have MORE 'accessories' installed in your car, and as far as the insurance discount goes its not DEFINATE that they will give you a discount. Dont get me wrong I know some do, but its not because of what type of alarm you have. Its the functions, AND having a starter kill is one of them, but most if not ALL alarms these days come with that function.
If Tony is upset about how much he paid I believe he has the right to be. His car already has a starter dis-able and its called a "transponder key" which in order to start his car, the key being used must have the correct frequency in order to start the car. I can go into specifics if anyone likes, but having an added starter kill is really pointless. If you think that "its a secondary precaution" dont you think by this time the would be thief knows what he's doing?
Bottom line if someone wants your car he's going to get it one way or another. Dont keep anything valuable in your car, and for $495 I can get an alarm made by a more reputable company which provides 2-way communication with remote start and still have money left over to go to the strip club.
