I rented a car from Hertz in Desoto, Texas. Upon receiving the auto from the attendant, i drove away from the storefront operation and soon noticed that the inside rearview mirror vibrated excessively. Since I was several blocks away from the establishment, I used my cellular phone to call and complain about the mirror. I was told by one of the employees that they closed at 12:00pm on Saturdays. The employee further stated that if I was not pleased with the rented auto that I should drive it to Dallas Love Field and ask for a replacement.
I drove the car with with the damaged mirror to the Hertz office at Dallas Love Field whereupon the manager required that I complete a damage report. To me this was nonsense, since the car was already in that condition when I picked it up in Desota. I completed the report, received an identical auto and left with the replacement auto.
Several days later, while driving on Interstate 20 near Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the rear tire, driver's side blew out. I changed the blowout with the emergency donut in the trunk. I bought a new tire from the Sears store in Tuscaloosa. When I returned the auto, Hertz would not reimburse me for the cost of the tire. I do not like Hertz.
