BrakeMasters said they could fix my rearview mirror, which had come off of the windshield. So I let them - for a fee of $42.00. The mirror fell off the next day.

I called Pep Boys. The person there said that I would be best served by going to an auto glass shop. I called BrakeMasters, and the assistant manager there said, "The people at Pep Boys are a bunch of bast#$ds."

Nonetheless, I called some glass shops and found out that lots of them will reattach a rearview mirror FOR FREE, as a good-will gesture. So I went to one.

The technician there said my mirror was damaged by being full of that strong glue which had the metal thing strongly glued into the plastic thing that you slip over the metal thing to reattach the mirror after the metal thing is glued on to the windshield.

He said that, if he just threw glue on it like BrakeMasters did and stuck it back up, I might have a problem down the road. Specifically, if I ever needed to replace the windshield I probably couldn't remove the mirror without busting it.

I called BrakeMasters again and the assistant manager told me, "That guy's a liar." This assistant manager recommended that I take the car to his brother-in-law's auto glass shop, where the problem would be resolved.

Is it me, or is there something wrong with this picture???

I found out that a new mirror for my Buick Century Custom would cost hundreds of dollars. The assistant manager's supervisor at BrakeMasters would not talk to me because he was too busy.

They gave me a $42.00 credit toward future work done there. I don't think I should let them touch my car again.
