Myself and my family have owned Mercedes since 1959. Presently own a 1995 C280 which has been well maintained. In June 2002 I took my vehicle in to my Mercedes specialist as I was experiencing problems. I was informed that I would need to have the engine harness replaced. Cost $1500.00 T

Then 2 weeks later still experiencing problems I was informed that I would have to replace the throttle actuator Cost $1700.00

I called a dealership as well as a couple of places that only repair Mercedes Benz. They all informed me that this was due to cheap manufacturing and design flaws and that they had already replaced many of these parts on the C280.

I called Mercedes Benz. I requested that these parts be replaced under a recall as the problem was so vast. They denied even knowing that there was a problem with these parts. I was brushed off and basically told to take a hike, as this was not an issue they wanted to deal with.

I have since learned just how many of C280 models have had these parts replaced, which is a substantial amount.

I am fedup with Mercedes Benz and will never buy another one, neither will my family of friends, based on their handling of this issue!
