I have a great idea!!! Start keeping a proper check register, stop using your debit card as if it were a credit card and reconcile your monthly bank statement - Problem solved
No more overdrafts - Stop relying on atm and online balances - Start taking responsibility for YOUR money - YOU signed the bank agreement so maybe you should have read the terms and conditions of that agreement
As for being a "bank defender" I am NOT - I do know how to manage my finances by budgeting my monies

Can you explain what they are doing different since the policy change that is making it more difficult to keep track.
Now it never was a good idea to trust the online statement in the first place as many found out too late, you have to keep track of your account to the penny like I do..yes it's a pain sometimes if you use a debit card for a lot of small purchases..but you don't want to trust the bank statements...the slip-ups earn them money as you are finding out..
If they are doing anything different now..or more deceptive, please let us know so it can be exposed. We need specifics on what the bank is doing in order to help anyone else not fall for it...or to conclude if it was due to a mistake on your part only.
I believe part of the policy change is BofA is now allowing it's customers to opt out of overdraft protection. You may want to consider that option to avoid any bank tactics or error on your part..fraud or theft etc from allowing overdrafts to occur in the first place. This does not excuse or relieve you of any personal responsibility with your account..but a little free insurance never hurts.

This customer has obviously not opted out of overdraft protection, so overdrafts certainly will still occur in that case..never stated otherwise.
There is also not enough information on this report to conclude anything other then the online statement is not reflecting the actual account balance in a way that is had before..which is why more information is needed before we can start viciously attacking one another which still won't do anyone a lick of good.

I thought the new regulations were going to stop these complaints!?
Oh wait. That's right, because people still cannot figure out how their checking account works.
