Out of an ever-growing list of nightmare customer service experiences, my final purchase from Avon products in 1987 still holds the title of the all-time worst. An Avon rep named Deana Major, who worked with me at the Department of the Navy in Crystal City, Virginia, took my payment in advance for a bracelet and earrings order. By the time the order was ready, she no longer worked in that office and neither did I. She disappeared with my money and merchandise! I spent over $30.00 on long-distance calls to the Avon offices, trying to get a refund for my order and reimbursement for the phone calls. Over the years, I have continued to try, umpteen times, to get my money back that Avon owes me and yet, the company STILL refuses to accept responsibility for what their representative did to me 21 years ago.

Avon Rep in Oregon

Tiger - BORING (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, July 21, 2008
1. You bought jewels from a fake Avon Rep. :(

2. I just chased off a phony/fake Avon Rep from my apartment complex. She was "throwing out-dated books", on door-steps, and then trying to "high pressure people" into buying immediately...by 8:00 p.m.. that night. :0

3. These fakes somehow steal books, and then proceed to pretend they are Avon Reps to steal money from people. :0 :0

4. They big clue, they always ask for money in advance. ;/

5. Avon NEVER TAKES MONEY IN ADVANCE FOR ANY SALE! $$$

6. Avon Reps, only have you pay, at time of DELIVERY. $$$

7. Only do business with an Avon Rep, that is located on the Avon official website:

www.Avon.com

8. I real Avon Rep, has a Avon Website, put books in the area mulitply times, and usually lives in the neighborhood, and does business with others in your area.

Hope this helps you. :)

Avon Rep's Husband

Tekgreg - Cincinnati (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 27, 2008
'm sorry to hear about your experience with what you presumed to be an Avon rep. The above rebuttal is correct - my wife does not take any money until she is handing the bag of products to her customer. You can also choose to order by e-mail directly from the rep's website, which most reps have chosen to implement. However, always check credentials at Avon.com if it seems fishy.

My wife was recently contacted by a customer of an Avon rep that had left the business. The customer had received an order of clothing and some of the sizes were incorrect and she wished to return them for credit. By the time she contacted my wife, it had been over a year and she was afraid nothing could be done. My wife made a quick call to Avon and they issued a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) and immediately credited my wife's account the money originally paid for the goods. The customer chose to use the credit and is now a loyal customer of my wife's.

Avon has never refused a return or replacement request in my experience and always provides timely help when needed. If you work with a registered representative when you give your order, almost any other rep should be able to solve a problem with a phone call. Also remember, if you don't like your rep, you can always change! Never feel bad for leaving someone that doesn't make you feel good. :-)

The rep took your money and stole it (didn't place the order- whatever), not Avon. If you want your money then you need to get it from the Representative who took it. Representatives are "Independent Avon Reps" therefore Avon is NOT responsible for a representatives actions. They can't pay you money that they never got because the rep pocketed it. I'm sorry you had an experience with such a dishonest person, but you need to go after the rep for your refund. You can even take her to small claims court if you have to. If you win, she'll have to pay the court filing fee as well. HTH :D
