Best Buy ripoff BAIT & SWITCH ADVERTISING Super deceptive company Glen Allen Virginia

Best Buy advertised a sale on the DVD: TERMINATOR 2. The advertisement promised a minimum of 50 copies per store. The edition shown in the advertisement was the Ultimate Edition.

When the store opened I could not find these ANYWHERE in the store - the shelves only had full priced editions. In fact there were two different Terminator 2 editions on the shelves and one was the one mentioned in the advertisement, but not at the advertised price.

I asked an associate in that area but they said they didn't have any of the advertised copies in stock and they wouldn't provide a rain check.

I got them to get a manager who repeated the information adding that they would not be getting anymore in at all and that's why they couldn't do rain checks. I asked about the ones on the shelves and he said that the edition in the advertisement wasn't the same as the ones on the shelves even though they looked identical. Then he claimed they had a few originally in, but sold out (he couldn't explain where these were originally put out). I asked about the 'minimum 50' advertised and he said that they gave out 50 rain checks. When I pointed out that this contradicted his first claim of 'no rain checks' he said nothing and just started to walk off - I asked after him for his name but he refused to give it and went into the back of the store.

I reported them to the BBB but all that resulted in was a form letter that didn't address my complaints specifically at all.
