We are sorry that this customer was unhappy with the progress and process of building a log home. Unfortunately, there are many issues to contend with when building any custom home. These includes weather delays, material delays (ordering and shipping), and occassionally untested sub-contractors.
We have built nearly 150 log homes and are continuing to add to our portfolio of finished projects. We have also refinished and repaired a countless number of log homes in five different states. We would be please to give you references from our past and present customers.
Thank you for your consideration.

Ray's log homes, with out a doubt is one of the worst builders I have ever encountered. My advice to you,is to stay away from this builder and find another more compentent builder for your log home or your log home repair. This guy will drag your job out forever. What was supposed to take 120 days to complete, took over 8 months, just to complete the interior.
He only has one real carpenter. The others are inexperienced in all aspects of the trades. They are rough to but it mildly. They will trash your property and make numerous mistakes without an attempt to repair them. They are ungratefull for your help and think of you as some kind of idiot when you question their mistakes, even if you are well versed in the construction trades such as I am. He only has a 4 man crew.
Do not, I repeat, do not even conseder this contractor if you wish to keep your sanity in tact.
I had a contract upon Ray's Log Homes payoff that stated that he would complete his work on the exterior by April 1, 2004. It is one week later and he is yet to complete his work. He claims he brought the wrong color caulking. Trust me he knew what color to bring. He is again delaying the completion because he is either the most forgetfull man on this earth or he is just using delay tactics again because he is to spread out with work.
What he doesn't realize is, he is just reinforcing my case against him as a lousy business man that does sub-par work. Take it from me, find yourself another builder or impose cash penalties for not completing the work on time according to a schedule. If repairs are required, then charge him for every day it takes to make those repairs. Be sure to not back away from the thought of taking him to court. I haven't.

It took the threat of getting someone else to get my house completed. But what he is not aware is that there are still some problems that I had requested over a year ago that Ray of Ray's log home has yet to repair. I guess he figures that since I am in construction that I will just do them myself. Wrong! I paid for a completed house and I expect a completed house. So my next step is a legal step. Sorry Ray. Maybe you better start doing a better job. I sure hope others read this before they hire this guy. Hey, contact me if you want the complete scoop.
