Roadloans/ Triad Financial Charge Off Charge-off prior to 180 days, totaled vehicle, accident, wouldn't negotiate North Richland Hills Texas

Roadloans/Triad charged off an account of mine for a vehicle totaled in an accident. The amount was a paltry 500 bucks, and I called several times to renegotiate the terms of the loan since I already had a new vehicle loan to pay. They wouldn't accept anything less than the 202/month the original loan payment was. Two months of not negotiating they charged off the account. Regularly this process will take 180 days. I have been waiting on the deductible reimbursement from the insurance company, and had not received it in time. Now that they have the account charged off they will accept smaller payments 100/month, but will not remove the status from my report once the debt is paid.

Seeking counsel from the consumer protection dept. in Massachusetts, wondering what the legal limits are for charge offs. Stay away from this company, they are fairly tight fisted and will not do any favors.
