John Howden has been falsely accused of ripping of Native people. There are many people with challenged credit issues who apply to Auto Finance Brokers for assistance. As brokers they review an individuals credit bureau and seek out lenders who are willing to take a risk in providing automobile loans to such individuals.
Since all scenarios vary from person to person so do interest rates. The rates charged by these non-prime lenders is simply based upon risk acessment of past and current credit status. Rates vary from as low as 9.9% up to 32%. The individuals are always aware of these rates before signing any agreements. And often these same people certainly know their credit was in poor shape due to either unavoidable circumstances and in some cases sheer neglect.
Further the lenders whom assume the risk of approving these loans place limits and restrictions in terms of prices that vehicles can be sold for. The obvious reason being that there is a greater chance that such high risk loans can go into default again, and the lenders may have to reposess the property for disposal in order to mimimize thier losses. Two other points worth mentioning in this rebuttal is that John Howden had no affiliation with the Birchwood Automotive Group at the time of this allegation bieng filed.
And second is Mr Howden passed away of cancer on January 06th 2008 at the Health Sciences Center. Mr Howden was a very dear friend of mine and since he is not able to file a rebuttal in his defense i feel an obligation out of sheer respect for the deceased to do so. I hereby request out of respect that the unsubstantiated allegations be removed.
