This can't be legal! My story begins in September 2002 when I went off work on medical leave to have my baby. I missed my september payment on my car because I live alone and my medical pay was barely enough to pay my rent.
On October 29, 2002 I had to borrow the cash from a friend to make a payment, and I also filed an extension form to add the September payment on to the end of my loan.
On November 29, 2002 I had my co-signer on the loan make another payment for me (that was nice of him). I also filed another extension form because Chrysler Financial said that I had to. (shouldn't I be caught up by now?) By now my 12 weeks of medical pay runs out and I have 2 more weeks before I'm released to go back to work from the doctor.
I went back to work on December 15th and was completely broke - as in nothing to live on and didn't expect a paycheck until after Christmas. Fortunately I have another nice friend who loaned me the money to make another payment on December 20th.
On December 22 (3 days before Christmas) they reposessed my car!
Now they're telling me that I'm 60 days past due. They wont tell me where my car is, and now somehow I owe $1400.00 to get it back.
After a week of calling and calling and being put on hold, never being able to speak to a person, someone finally called me back!
Lisa in the Recovery Department called me back, and couldn't give me a straight answer about how I could be 60 days behind, she started yelling at me saying it was all my fault for letting myself get 3 payments behind and then she hung up on me.
I'm doing everything I can to catch back up, I've only just went back to work. I have a new baby now and no "other means of support". I need help dealing with these people because they just don't give a damn.
