We moved into our new house in September of 1999. We ordered the carpet in July, paying one half of the cost of the flooring. That was on July 28,1999 for the amount of $3000.00. We paid the remainder of the bill, $3770.16 on the 11th of September. The name of the place of purchase is Floors and More in Decatur, Texas, 76234. Street address:109 N. State Street.

Phone: 800-817-5199. WWW: unknown. Complaint information: Product or service involved: carpet. Brand/Manufacturer: Shaw Model Name or Number: Queen Caorado color: Frosted Praire. Name of salesperson: Ms. Dean (unknown last name).

The problem first occured the day we moved into our home in September 11, 1999. Company contacted first on that day and at least every week, today begin the last. The person spoken to is named Erica, again, last name unknown. The carpet was paid for by the unit price of $28.50 each unit for a total price of carpet being $3,571.91 plus tax and installation. The other charges were for tile.

We were also charged a driving fee. They didn't tell us how much that was. The night we moved into our home, we noticed a spot in the office. It was small but noticable in the light carpet. Within the next few days, the small spot grew to a three foot diameter. That was 6 months ago, it is still spreading. There are similiar spots throughout the entire house. The carpet is also staining with food and beverage spills, even water leaves a dark stain.

As stated, we spoke with a person named, Erica. After repeated calls to the store, a man named, Jerry, came and looked at the carpet in early February. He stated that he didn't know what it was but that he would keep in touch. Nothing happened. I was told to contact the company where the carpet was made and file a complaint.

I did it was somewhere in Georgia. They advised me that I was doing the work of the store where I purchased the carpet should be doing. I contacted the store, again. They said that claims moved faster if the consumer filed the complaint. I called Georgia, again. They told me to contact the Better Business Bureau. Nothing happened. 2 weeks ago, I received a call from a man in Tulsa, Oklahoma, saying he was going to come investigate my carpet. He did in the next day or so. He entered our home, took pictures of every room, samples of the carpet, stayed about 2 hours and left. I thought the store had hired him, so I called them to let them know he was through with his 'investigation' making me feel like a criminal in my own home.

The store said they had never heard of him. I had his number on my caller ID. I called and asked him who hired him, he stated the store did, then to the manufactuor, to him. Meanwhile, the carpet is so gross, I am totally ashamed of it. It is ruined. We gave the store 6 months to mend the situation without results.

I gave her another week, still, nothing. This Erica person also called my wife a liar on 2 different occasions. I have been married to my wife for 35 years and try as I may, I could never find a lie that she told. I am at the end of my little rope here. I clearly need help. I thought about throwing a big open house party to introduce the store to this part of Texas. Let it be known what kind of work they do.

I also have some friends who are having problems with the same store, it's a carpet problem, too. Can you help?
