Apple Computer Refuses to issue rebate - "Lost Mail" Twice! South Bend Indiana

Against my better judgement, I bought an iPod along with the purchase of an Apple computer, because it was supposed to be free with a rebate. I followed the rebate instructions to the letter, but when I looked online for my status, it said that they had not received the bar codes and other information. I called them and they said they had no record of my rebate submission, even though I had submitted it online, been issued a claim number and had sent everything in. So then they sent me some substitute form to fill out, which I did, and sent it in. Surprise! That was lost in the mail too! They have no record of me. So on my fourth call to them, they wanted to fax me yet another form, but the fax didn't come through. So on my fifth call they told me to fax my information to them and told me it would "go into the system and show up in two to four weeks."

This is ridiculous. They can look on their computers and see what I bought, when I bought it, the serial numbers and the fact that I submitted a rebate online. I bought it from the online Apple Store. They run you around, claim forms are lost in the mail and try to get you to give up on the rebate. South Bend, Indiana must be the black hole where no mail gets through. A complete ripoff.
