My 14 year old daughter submitted a poem on the APS website- poetryamerica.com. She was excited to be considered for winning a contest for her hard work.
On May 25, 2004 I received an email-
You submitted to us on our website poetryamerica.com your contact information along with a copy of your poem. Our editorial staff was impressed with your poem and would love to include it in the publication of our upcoming collection of fine poetic works entitled: "REFLECTIONS." ISBN: 0-9743429-6-3. Please mail it back to us as soon as possible, as we are scheduled to go to press in approximately six weeks. The production time is about an additional ten to twelve weeks.
I ordered- Box of Five Anthologies-$128.95 s/h $24.80 & Personalized Poetry Plaque-$38.95 s/h $7.80 U.S. total of order $200.50. This was so that her grandparents and other family could have a copy of one of the greatest acheivements in her young life.
After the time alotted in the email lapsed, I called their can be reach 410-764-1075 on Oct 13,2004 and spoke with TERESA, who advised me print was a week or two from typeset. Allow 8 more weeks. I then called back Nov 17,2004 for an update and left a message on voicemail for someone to call me back, no response received. I called again Nov 29,2004, only to leave a voicemail. Then again Dec 2,2004, no answer, and left voicemail but no response. I was very prompt in submitting my order and want to receive my order NOW, since their noted timeframe has lapsed or get a complete refund immediately.
I have since put a report in to the Better Business Buraeu- www.bbb.com and the Internet Fraud Complaint Center-www.ifccfbi.gov/cf1.asp. Both of which you can access to file a complaint or read up on already filed complaints.
