In June '99 I purchased a new computer monitor from Comp USA,
primarily because it seemed like a great deal - the monitor specs
were decent and the price was decent- PLUS the manufacturer, Pixie,
offered a $70 rebate. The salesman told me that it was the same
monitor that Comp USA sold as their generic brand. I purcased the
monitor and sent in all the required stuff, reciept, UPC code which
I peeled off the monitor, rebate form, etc, following their
requirements to the letter... About a month later I recieved a
correspondence from Pixie stating that they would not honor their
offer because I did not send the original UPC code from the monitor.
I then wrote a letter stating that indeed I DID send the original
and , still having the monitor box, I cut off the UPC code from the
box and sent that back to them with the letter. Well, guess what
kids?....nope, not so much as a whimper from Pixie. I urge all of
you to NEVER believe anything that this company puts in writing. In
my opinion they are promising rebates they obviously have no
intention of honoring. Buyer Beware!
