Had put out feelers, to several credit card companys for a credit card consolidation. One night recieved a call from a WaMu representive and wanted to know the balances of my credit cards, so he could do balance transfers and he would get back with me. Sounded like a done deal.

Next week he called and said they could not process my request. Next week I got a letter from WaMu which I put in mail junk bin. The next month I recieved a bill for over $1250 from WaMu, which I promptly called them up and explained that I didn't have an account with them and they ran me around to 6 or 8 department, unbeknownest to me there was a credit card in that envelope in my mail junk bin and also I was not aware that they had approve me for $1500.

Now the way I understand it, for a credit card to work after you recieve it, you have to call a number to activate the card. The WaMu fraud dept. verified I hadn't activated the card. And he agree with me that I couldn't have an account without the card activation. Now I'm wanting to know how I owe them $1250? Well looks like on June 5th somebody from WaMu did a partial transfer to one of my credit cards. Well right here it gets a little fishy if you know what I mean, the customer service rep tried to explain to me how you didn't need to activate the card, to have an account?

This must be a special credit card? Anyway I think someone at WaMu jump the gun, an assumed I had activated the card and they transfered the money to my other credit card. The long and the short of this, is I don't pay for other peoples mistakes. Thank you WaMu,You got yourself this time and you won't see a penny from me.

You can

have an account without activating the card. Activating the card ONLY allows you to use the card.

You opened up the account when you consented and agreed to the balance transfer.

So yes, you do owe them that money. I would, however, make sure that the amount was actually transferred from the other credit card account.

All depending on who you have an account with; one could agree to open up an account; never activate and use the credit card which would be mailed; and then still end up owing monry. How - you ask? Because if you have an account that is opened, it can accrue fees for that account - such as an annual fee or monthly maintenance fee. And if you were to not pay on the account it could accrue late fees.

WaMu - as you say - did not make the mistake here, you did. You will most certainly make your situation worse if you try to ignore it and not pay.

Consent

Consent means giving permission to. This never happened. Balance Transfer means the amount money owed in full. Partial transfer is not the same as balance transfer. At the time your representive in May called, and said we could not combined the three credit cards, as I desired for a balance transfer to WaMu. This terminated our dealings, for this is what I consented to, all or nothing. And it was very plain to your phone representive.

And as far as the supposed account, look at the account number WaMu, is it not the same as the credit card? And on theses bills it come as card with that card number, so how can the account not be a credit card? If walks like a duck and talks like duck, how can it be a rabbit?

One other thing stop calling me at work, this is harrassment and against the law.
