I have had a credit card with this Company now for 6 months now. I Paid my bill on and before time in which it was due. I also paid this account in full each time I made a payment, and today while reading my statement I learned that for a cash advance they charged me a 86.93% APR. This is crazy, when I contacted them the representitive I spoke with was rude and when she realized I was upset she got worse.

So finally I explained that I just wanted to pay the card off and close the Account, she became more rude a wouldnt let me speak, she just kept talking as I was trying to figure out why they had used a intrest rate of this size. she then told me there would be a fee of $5.95 to make this payment on the Phone and a fee of $3.00 just to close this account.

I have never heard of anything such as this and hope I never do again...

This should also serve as a reminder to check your monthly statements for all charges espically APR's.

Make sure you chech your credit reports, and get everything from them in WRITING that settles that you owe no debt from them!
just a lil history lesson on this company:
They were called "First National Bank of Marin"
in which they were investigated and sued, thus changed their name. (there are numerous ripoff reports on here by that name or "FNBM")

You need to only correspond with them via letters, check out budhibbs.com for some good consumer advice.

an address to write to would be:
Credit One Bank
James Shaughnessy
Vice President and Director
Transaction Services
PO Box 98876
Las Vegas, NV
89193-8876
Hope this helps, DO NOT TAKE THIER WORD FOR ANYTHING SAID PER PHONE CONVERSATIONS!!!
