This is about Wells Fargo. My grandma had a credit card from them. She got into some bad financial difficulties and got behind on her bill. We both lost our jobs and had no money coming in to pay the bill.

Wells Fargo were told time and time again she had lost her job and was unable to pay the bill at the time, but would when she could. She was upset, scared and worried about getting the bill paid and tried everything she could to get loans to pay them, but was turned down and she didn't know what to do.

Knowing the above, Wells Fargo still threatened and harassed her day after day. Calling and calling at all hours of the day. Sending and sending letters.

It got so bad she got sick and had to go to the hospital from the stress. Finally it got so bad with them, that she was forced into having to sell our house. The only house she ever owned, that we had for 12 years.

That is absolutely terrible that this place makes their money suing, threatening, scaring, and harassing people, and can get away with doing that to people. Putting liens on someone's home and making them sell their house and scaring, threatening, and harassing them.

Not to mention how absolutely nasty those credit card people from Wells Fargo, like the people with surnames of Briggs, Hayes, Britt and Bryant, were towards her. They don't care what they do to people to get their money or if the person has to sell the only home they had for many years in their life to pay the bills when there is no other way for them to.

These places don't understand some things happen beyond a person's control, through no fault of their own, like financial problems, loosing their jobs, not having any money coming in, or bad luck. Those credit card people should have to go through that, be scared, homeless, sick to their stomach, have to loose or give up their home, have no where to go then, and see how they like it.

They should not be able to get away with doing that to people and is terrible that they can.

Young an Naive. Much more to the story here.

The OP must be very young, and Naive. That is simply not the way things work.

BTW..how old are you? How old is your Grandma? This information might clear up a few things.

Now for the facts.

The first is my favorite! NOBODY can force you to sell, or in any way cause you to lose your home over a late credit card bill. It simply cannot happen. Your Grandma must have also been late on the mortgage as well, and was foreclosed on. Nobody "forced" her to sell the home.

And, if she was late on this bill and others, I suspect, how would borrowing the money solve anything? And, who would lend money to someone who already is not paying their bills? This is a no brainer. Think about it.

If you want to stop the phone calls, just change the phone # to an unlisted one! Very simple solution, once again.

Your "Grandma" could have filed for BANKRUPTCY protection. That is exactly what it is for. The house would have been protected, as well as most other assets. Then Wells Fargo would have gotten nothing.

As much as I hate so much big business and debt collectors, there was no rip off here. Wells Fargo had every right to attempt to collect their money.

Usually after 90 days delinquent, a bank will authorize a hardship program for you, and lower interest and payments, etc. But you have to ask for it. They will not volunteer it.

And, Wells Fargo is a BANK, not a "credit card procesing company". That might explain some of your confusion.

So what's the ripoff?

'These places don't understand some things happen beyond a person's control, through no fault of their own'

Your spending put you in that position, not the person/people that agreed to lend you the money. No one made you take the money. No one made you spend all that money.
