BEWARE OF PAYING HUGE AMOUNTS ON YOUR CREDIT CARDS THEY WILL TAKE AND LOWER YOU LIMITED IMMEDIATELY THAT IS WHAT HAPPENED TO ME WITH AMEX. THE CREDIT CRASH IS AFFECTING THE UNEMPLOYED SMALL FOLKS......NOW........I am currently unemployed...but have 7 cc yes they are all up to top chasing tail about...but in meantime my car went into shop I like AMEX dispute center should I have a problem with repairs...so tossed 744 on sunday onto acct. called on monday csr said hum not on acct yet but lets do a test run did it said yes if I needed to use it would be available. tues morning receive call from shop. Car is ready.
Called AMEX get acct bal its stated I had 788....I only need 500...so it cleared my deposited. get to shop no more than 3 laters and it was declined. Talked to 3 CSR who all put me on hold confused. Finally get a CSR who checks with her supervisors...said my limited was reduced. I freaked explained I can't get my car out of shop last dime I had put on card for security purposes...in case the dealership repairs we bad. So long story short They approved 500....I asked now what is my available credit they said 188 not sure callback.
Go to use at Costco declined declined. I call it now states my cc is OVER THE LIMITED OF 297........OK wait....so I call and call and call they are saying they allowed the 500 as emergency funds but that it went over my NEW LOWERED CREDIT LIMIT....I have never been over credit limit before accept a couple of dollars at most once or twice only not on this card at all I don't think.........yes all credit is a top but never been OVERLIMITED to this degree.
As I mentioned I am unemployed and paying all my cc on time and making suring they don't float over..l.I did not get any warning of DECREASE OF CREDIT LINE they say when they do it they send out notice. THAT IS NOT A NOTICE they should give their customers fair warning so that they can make other arrangement for payments on things. I AM SCARED ALL MY CREDIT WILL BE AFFECTED becuase they did not tell me that would put me over the limit by 297 and can't pay it...don't have now...they assure me they won't charge me over the limited fees but did say they don't report to creditors but they may get a whiff of it.......SAY WHAT! If I would have known or been warned when at car dealership shop that you may charge up to 500 but it may put you over the limit I might have just taking a taxi home and try to figure out how else to pay....THEY DID NOT WARN ME OF THIS...
I am so upset it took forever to clean up my credit been unemployed for almost a yr and now this...terrible....I feel I WAS MISLEAD INTO TAKING THAT 500 with out them disclosing what would happend to me. WHO CAN i COMPLAIN TO?????
