FOURTEEN PERCENT !!! I get offers every week for NO interest cards (6 to 12 month period) and NO transfer fees for outstanding balances.
The banks will eat your lunch if you allow them.
Why do you think all of that fine print, and continual account changes, mandate arbitration as the only recourse to resolve a legal issue. They want to avoid the dangers of class action remedy.
When is the last time you actually read all of that garbage (4 or 5 pages of micro print) that arrives every few months telling you about Changes in Your Account? --- sent me a load of that foul smelling stuff a few months ago and I dropped them like a rabid skunk.d The mafia has more integrity than most banks. Most of the banks now have clauses that stipulate they can raise your rates if you pass gas at Starbucks.
The only way to beat the banks at their own game is to have a FLAWLESS credit record and allow them to prey on each other with their NO INTEREST offers.....and no balance transfer fees. I have been bouncing a balance around for the past 4 years and will soon have it paid off. Haven't made a single charge during that time and the $100 monthly payment is applied to principle.
Two years ago I got an interest free rewards card (12 month period,no balance transfer fee ) that gave me $100 of rewards credit that I used
to get Shell gas cards. You had to make ONE purchase on the card to qualify for the $100 so I spent $5. 12 months later I had another interest free offer lined up.
CREDIT is a cancer. The only way to beat the bank crooks with this UNSECURED credit is to have 30 or 40,000 outstanding when you croak.......and chances are that will happen when you pay the minimum amount each month, which is frequently 1/40th of the balance due.
