I would just like to rebutt Cynthia's comment, former GE employee in Austin, TX. Maybe you should consider a career in the military. They brainwash you there too. Except, when you are done at boot camp, you actually serve a function in society.

It's not a narrow minded attitude that makes me resentful of GE, it's attitudes like Cynthia's that do. You swear by the company because they cut you a check every two weeks, not because you actually ever tried their services, if you can call it a service.

After shelling out a whopping $1800 for my 3 year membership, I realized I really couldn't do anything to get my money back, I simply had to grin and bear it, which I did. I have been a member for 16 months and to date have met with 6 men from the service that fit under one of 3 categories; self absorbed, rich but cheap, and borderline psychotic. I do not use GE as my only means of a social life, yes, I use it as a supplement. I was only hoping to meet one person that maybe I could determine fun enough to hold as a friend, but thus far, it's been a bust.

After these six dates, I went to GE to pull my profile from their files. (The rest of the men choosing me were old enough to be my father...I am not a Playboy Bunny and my dream in life is not getting my groove on with a 40 year old man...I'm 25 by the way) I was asked why I wished to remove my profile, and remarked that, like all the other info they have about me, it was none of their business. They refused to allow me to remove it, claiming it is their property to do with as they wish. Try and tell that to someone leasing a car. Technically it still belongs to the manufacturer or dealership, but throw that argument at them and you better be prepared to defend that statement with your fists.

I honestly think that the only intelligent thing GE of Denver did was set up their office in a federal bank building, where defacing it would be a federal offense. I really don't want prison time, 3 squares a day and a girlfriend.

Why were my ears burning when I read Erica's description of the men she's met for the $1800
fee?: "self absorbed, rich but cheap, and borderline psychotic."

Holly horrors, Batman! I'm all three! Particularly the "psychotic" part. Good thing I hooked a really swell wife on my second marriage some 40+ years ago. I'm going to give my wife a big, wet, kiss right now!
