,

For the last couple of weeks McDonalds has been advertising their 6 piece McNuggets at a special price on Tuesdays of 89 cents.

Today was the first time I remembered the special on the correct day and happily went to McDonalds for my 6-pc Nuggets. I asked them if they had the McNugget Special that is advertised on T.V. for 89cents and they told me that 6 piece McNuggets are always $2.19.

I let them know I was disappointed that they do not honor their
advertisments and told them I did not want any food. I attempted to call to report the problem and the phone number they gave me did not answer. The McDonalds address is on 4th Street in El Centro,Ca.

Their phone number is 760-353-8511...I asked for the correct number to call to report the incident to the main headquarters and after much hesitation they gave me this number: 602-273-0230 (no on answered) I tried to get help from the other McDonalds in town and allI got was voice mail suggesting I leave my name and number and someone would call me back.

You are my last attempt at justice.
Is there something you can do to end this practice of false advertising.

Thank you, Barbara McMindes

the ad is for "participating restaurants only."

Rebuttal:
If you watch the McDonald's commercials CAREFULLY...you will see that when they advertise a special promotion, they always state somewhere in the commerial that the ad is for "participating restaurants only." This means if the operator of a particular McDonald's restaurant chooses not to have a discount, they do not have to, and are not obligated to do so.

Sorry folks, but nothing illegal, immoral, unethical or even wrong has occured here. Each store has the right to participate in any promotion - or not.

Case in point - try any McDonalds at any airport. First you'll notice that the prices are somewhat. Next you'll find that the menu is more limited, compared to the nearest one off airport property. And finally, you'll find that they rarely, if ever, particpate in any promotions. Frankly, they don't have to. They have a captive audience, and they know it. Unfortunately, it's just the nature of the business.

And in all fairness, I should probably point out that this is not limited to McDonalds, or even restaurants for that matter. Prices are adjusted in relation to the neighborhood, economy, physical location, etc. in many different enterprises. Most obvious is gas stations.

Listen you should never eat at mc donalds.

Barbara,
i understand how you feel. however your looking at $1 differnece. For one, you should never eat at mc donalds. the food is not the least bit healthy for you. If your looking for some good chicken nuggets try Costco or even red robin! Try to avoid any fast food knowing the fact its fast food. you should want your food simmering in the juices and cooked thuroughly to its perfection. Well im through. i cant believe the world we are living in.
