Were you in line when there was a rush? Many times crew members get confused because of managers telling people to serve off meals from a screen that goes out of the window. Since there are many meals, it gets confusing. We don't want to forget food. It's just how it happens. . . sorry...

it doesn't matter how busy they are, always take the time to verify your purchase. i frequent fast food drive thru's and they all make occasional mistakes.
the quality of their employees is the factor in missing or messed up orders.
even the more upscale to go orders have their share of missing or messed up orders (outback steak house, cracker barrel, bob evans, etc..)
i have a family of six and i always check before i leave.

No one has ever said Macdonald's has delicious food. Not even kids. It's the clever sales marketing worldwide which has enabled them to grow to enormous mega-giant fast-food celebrity status.

If you live 20 minutes away from the nearest McDonald's and won't return to correct a botched order, then why don't you check your order to make sure it is right BEFORE leaving the drive-through window? If this is truly happening to you as often as you say it is, then it would seem only logical to start checking your order before you leave. Also, if you feel that they are "intentionally ripping you off" then why do you keep returning to this location? Isn't there anywhere else to eat in your one-horse town?

"..if 100 of them didn't receive a $1 item...". You're telling me 100 people didn't bother to look in their bags, to checks their order, before they drive away. That's why I never go through the drive thru
