This company charged a $1.00 for a 7-day trial, the name and phone number that appears on the credit card statement (the date was, Feb. 3, 2009)is "GOVTFUNDEDGRANTS 8007127222". I tried to call the number and found it to be bogus...I absolutely could not get a hold of anyone to stop them from charging my credit card after the 7-day trial. Therefore, I have purposely kept that account (my debit card) close to a zero balance so they couldn't take any money, however, that account happened to get a scheduled deposit yesterday...and GUESS WHAT??? My account was charged $29.95 yesterday (March 12, 2009), the name and phone number that appears on the credit card statement this time, is, "GOVTFUNDEDGRANTS 8883471687". But by calling this number (they addressed it as a "Cancelation Line/Number") I was able to get them to say they would not charge my credit card anymore...this was just today, so I can't be too positive...but I'm hopeful. But they also said that this charge of $29.95 was non-refundable, once they charged it!!! I even asked to speak to someone else and I was told that was not possible, however they will make no further charges on my credit card.
These kind of scams need to end! In todays economic conditions, who can afford to just through $30 away!
