I was in debt on several credit cards summing near $50,000. Money Cares contacted me, told me they would get me a debt settlement with a huge discount, and then I would pay them $800 per month. Well, they began to withdraw $800 from my account monthly, but after waiting 6 months, they still had not made any debt settlement. I was contacted directly from my CC companies and settled with each company in just a few days.

MONEY CARES HAS NOW STOLEN OVER $4,000 FROM ME. They have not made a single payment towards my credit cards, but they have withdrawn $800.00 from my account for over 6 months now. I even went to my bank to put a stop on their withdrawals, and they withdrew again this month.

I have tried to contact them to get my money back, but now it looks like I have to get a lawyer and sue them.

MONEY CARES is a SCAM. DON'T HIRE THEM FOR DEBT SETTLEMENT. THEY WILL JUST STEAL YOUR MONEY. JUST CALL THE CREDIT CARD COMPANIES YOURSELF. I GOT 40% OFF MY BILLS MYSELF IN JUST A COUPLE DAYS AFTER I WAITED OVER 6 MONTHS FOR MONEY CARES. THEY DID NOTHING BUT STEAL $4K FROM ME.

Money Cares complaint

Bob - Medford (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, August 16, 2006
Money Cares, Inc. takes customer service issues very seriously and does its best to alleviate concerns. We are one of the only companies in the debt resolution industry to offer an array of services to fit every need. Our counselors are paid the same regardless of the product they enroll someone into and provide a comprehensive analysis to assure that in the end, the best is being done for the customer.

Specifically, this complaint is very suspicious. First, This is individual is from the state of New York and Money Cares has never enrolled a customer residing in the state of New York. Our legal staff has determined that the laws in the state do not allow us to conduct business there. Second, the description of how we conduct business does not match the way we do business. In our debt settlement program, the customer is setting aside his own money into an account established for him in his name.

When a customer drops the program, they get the money back other than an initial retainer and a small monthly maintenance fee. Third, how did this individual all of a sudden come up with $30,000 to settle the accounts himself? Under a best case scenario, it should have taken 3 years to settle the debt putting aside $800 per month.

I suspect that this complaint is bogus and placed by either a competitor or a disgruntled employee. Since this particular web site does no due dilligence to assure authenticity, this kind of action is quite possible. It is virtually impossible to be in this industry, with any kind of customer volume, and not have complaints. People that are going through these type of issues are very anxious and often hear what they want to hear.

There are also some bad companies in this industry, as there are in all industries, that prey on vulnarable consumers and make it difficult to differentiate between the good and bad ones.

I am proud of Money Cares track record and know that we provide a quality product and service. I also know that we care about our customers. We have always bent over backwards to resolve issues with our customers. It is a shame that this kind of forum can allow a good company to be blemished with very little recourse.

Actually, I am not an x-employee and not a competitor. I was a customer who was ripped off and scammed by Money Cares. They can try to cover up their scam, but do not listen to them. They stole over $5,000 from my bank account and never resolved any of my debt problems. They even continued to withdraw money from my checking account illegally when I sent them a letter to stop it. I had to change my whole bank account number to stop them from taking more money.

I waited over 6 months and they did not get one single card reduced, but they took money from my account each month. Finally, I had to resolve all my issues myself and now I have to take legal action to get my money back from Money Cares. Stay away from them and other debt settlement companies. You can get your own settlements by calling the credit card companies yourself.

I am only posting this message to prevent other innocent individuals from getting ripped off by companies like these.

THE MONEY CARES SCAM CONTINUES

Scott - New York (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 13, 2006
I find the comment from Money Cares rather hilarious that they say they are not allowed to do business in NY. If they can't conduct business there, then why does all my postal mail correspondence from them come from their office at:

Debt Settlement Company
3249 Route 112
Building 4 Suite 3
Medford, NY 11763

What is even more odd is that they send everything from NY but their paperwork says they are in Florida.

If you are also a victom of Money Cares, please contact me at (((email ROR redacted))) so we can discuss this further.

Florida: The Scam State

Toni - Red Bank (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, September 13, 2006
I know that this "Money Cares" is a scam. The owner of this company is a serpent who makes a living off of the misery of those in need. He is a despicable piece of garbage who is going to get what he deserves. If not in this world, then in the next!

"Money Cares", like many other disreputable companies use a Florida address because "anything goes" in Florida. It is much easier to run a scam out of Florida than it is out of other more progressive states like New York, which has much tougher regulation over companies like this.

Scott, since you live in New Yok State, where this "Money Cares" is actually headquartered in, I suggest that you contact the New York State Attorney General's Office and file a complaint against this company. Since the Attorney General is currently running for Governor, in order to win votes from New Yorkers, his office is much more likely to help you.

Good luck, Scott!

Go to ****, John!
