My boyfriend and I went up to the store to purchase bedroom furniture on April 5th. We fell in love with a set and we also purchased a mattress and boxspring set. The delivery date was set for the following weekend, April 12th. We couldn't believe how easy it was to order and then receive the furniture only a week later. We had talked about picking the furniture up ourselves, but the Sales Associate, Rena Mills persuaded us to use their wonderful delivery company which would only cost us an additional $99. So, we agreed.

April 12th, Delivery Day #1. Two big delivery guys start bringing in the furniture one piece at a time. They were arguing back and forth about the pieces being heavy (please note, these were big guys that should've been able to lift the furniture). I waited downstairs with the dog to keep him from barking. I hear them banging the furniture on the walls and dropping the furniture on the floor. They came downstairs and handed me a piece of paper to sign that we received the papers. I went upstairs to inspect the furniture while they were trying to leave in a hurry. I ran outside and asked them what I was supposed to do with the broken furniture in my room. They jotted a note on their paper and said we would receive an even exchange of the furniture in about a week and they drove off. We called customer service and they scheduled the even exchange to be on April 24th (weekday).

April 24th, Delivery Day #2. Turns out they weren't going to deliver our furniture on this day. They sent an inspector out to see that our dresser had a split top, armoire had a dent, and that the headboard was split. In the two weeks between the last delivery, I could've sent them pictures of the damage. Took time out of a work day to sit with an inspector. We called customer service and they said it was procedure... procedure that they forgot to explain to us on the previous call. They scheduled the even exchange to be for Saturday, May 6th after complaining about missing a day of work.

May 6, Delivery Day #3. My boyfriend was working when they came to the house to exchange the furniture. They asked to see the furniture and I told them we already had an inspector and they just wanted to make sure, so I took them up to the room. As soon as they entered the room, the delivery guy said that he didn't have this colored funiture on the truck. My face went blank and red. They went to the truck to make sure and sure enough, only light furniture was on the truck. Turns out they put the wrong codes on the boxes. The guy handed me a FAKE rose and said he was sorry and that they would have to reschedule. I immediately called Robbinsville Delivery whereupon I got hung up on by a customer service rep. My boyfriend called Levitz Customer Service and the Customer Service woman said that it wasn't their fault. He handed the phone to me in order to bite his tongue. I told the woman that we needed a weekend delivery and it would have to be that weekend. She put me on hold for 10 minutes and then came back on the line to let me know that May 10th would be the delivery day. We then called the Levitz furniture store where my boyfriend talked to the night manager and the manager told my boyfriend that we should just calm down and that everything would get figured out eventually.

May 10th, Delivery Day #4. The delivery time was to be 1PM - 5PM. The same delivery man showed up with a new helper (which we later found out to be his son). The only problem at this point was the fact that they showed up at 10AM! I told him that we were given a different time and he said, "Well, we're here. Do you want the furniture or not?" I told him he'd have to wait because we weren't ready. We cleared out the bedroom so they'd be able to bring the furniture in and out. They brought down drawers, up drawers, down drawers, up drawers (same set of drawers by the way). I mean, if they were trying to look busy, they were doing a good job. They began to argue and use bad language loud enough for our neighbors to hear. The son even told him dad that he was going to put a bullet in his a$$. At this point we wanted our furniture in and them out. The man came up to us and explained that his son couldn't lift the armoire with him and he'd have to come back with someone else Tuesday or Wednesday of the following week. My boyfriend offered to help, but their insurance wouldn't cover it. The guy even said he would take my boyfriend's cell phone number and call him when he's about 30 minutes away to give him time to come home.

May 14th, Today. No armoire. I called Robbinsville Delivery and they said they had a record that said he had an even exchange on Saturday and there was no need for a reschedule. They said I would need to contact Levitz to schedule the delivery. Of course, customer service was closed at that point so I called the store directly. I got a hold of Joe, the store manager. He was the first person to take responsibility for all of the problems we've been having instead of pointing the finger like every one else. He made an appointment for May 31st for the next, and he stated last delivery of furniture. He stated he would also send us a gift certificate to put towards our next purchase from Levitz. I mean, what a joke! I told him that I wouldn't be buying from Levitz ever again. No one seems to care once you hand over the money. As far as they're concerned you're someone else's problem.

I will update this posting after the 31st's delivery date.
