We at Cinergy Health certainly understand the confusion you may have regarding Cinergy Health and I hope that this writing will help clarify for you and others, who and what Cinergy Health is.
Cinergy Health began operations in 2004 initially and exclusively offering Cinergy Health Discount Medical Plans nationally. Throughout the ensuing years, however, Cinergy Health has become a licensed health and life insurance agency in all 50 states and D.C. and began offering limited medical health insurance plans in 2007.
Limited medical plans are health insurance plans designed with the intention of delivering meaningful and defined health insurance coverage at rates that are more affordable than those associated with major medical insurance. Limited medical plans are not major medical plans and are not sufficient coverage for catastrophic medical events. These plans typically have lower caps on healthcare services such as the number of doctor visits or days in the hospital that qualify for coverage in a given year.
Because the Cinergy Health limited medical plans are filed as guarantee-issue insurance individuals such as you, with existing medical conditions and are under age 65, qualify for the plans. However, there may be a six month waiting period on coverage for those particular conditions. Cinergy Health works with various U.S. based insurance companies to underwrite the insurance plans that we sell.
Anita, your frustration with the health care system is well-founded. That is precisely why Cinergy Health is so committed to resolving some of the barriers to quality healthcare for American consumers. Our health plans may not be suitable for everyone. Every healthcare consumer needs to make a thorough personal assessment to determine if a limited medical plan is sufficient to meet their own healthcare needs. As with most things it is often a trade-off between cost and the extent of coverage you get. Unfortunately for many, the choice is difficult because of the rapidly increasing cost of major medical health insurance.
