I was involved in an accident with a client of state farm. It was just a minor fender bender, but they went after me to pay the bill and treated me like I was a drunk driver, purposely driving careless, a criminal, or killed someone. None of which was true.

I was in some bad financial problems, and lost my job, and told state farm I'd pay the bill when they could. I was so scared and worried about it, but state farm and the agent, sw-collins, didn't listen. Still knowing the above, they just harassed and threatened me to pay my bill, and said that they'd take my license away if I didn't, like I was a drunk driver, killed someone, or was a criminal.

They put me under such emotional distress. I told them over and over I'd pay the bill when I could, but they didn't listen.

State farm scared and threatened me saying they were going to sue me or take my license away. That wasn't going to help me pay the bill any faster, and I was scared enough about getting it paid without that, and I was trying everything I could to pay it. Finally it was, like I promised to pay it all the time.

I think it is really terrible state farm can do that to people and get away with it. That should not be allowed. They don't understand that some things happen beyond a person's control, like losing a job, bad luck, or other situations that can't be helped. Companies should have to go through the same thing, be scared, homeless, out of work, have no money coming in, and be sick to their stomach and see how they like it.

Dear Anonymous.....

Let's look at this from a former cop's point of view....

1) State Farm is coming after YOU to pay:
Well, there are two things that we can deduce from this; the accident was YOUR FAULT and YOU DIDN'T HAVE INSURANCE. They would not be demanding payment from you if these two things were not true.

2) They are threatening to sue you and have your license taken:
In Arkansas, the state I worked as a cop in, driving without insurance is a minimum $500 fine. AND you will have your license suspended. And YOU and YOU ALONE are responsible for any and all damage that you cause in a wreck. In Texas, where I live and work as a PI, it is a $750 fine, REVOKED license and car impounded. And YOU and YOU ALONE are responsible for any and all damages that you cause.

3) Be Worried:
You should be worried. If they sue you, they will win. Then they can and will garnish your wages and seize property to have the settlement paid off. As I said before, State Farm would NOT be coming after you if the accident had not been your fault and you had insurance.

4) Closing remarks:
I was an accident investigator. You could say a detective for traffic accidents. I dealt with people like you all of the time. People that are ALWAYS the victim of the system. Most don't need to be on the road. You say that you are having money problems. Well, basic state minimum insurance will run about $35 to $40 a month in most states. Can you afford a $500 to $1500 fine? Can you afford $100,000 in damages that COULD be awarded to YOUR victim? Oh, btw, this is the kind of debt that bankruptcy WILL NOT cancel. You can blame whomever you like, but driving without insurance is YOUR FAULT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And they would have NO legal grounds to come after you otherwise.

what about your insurance?

Don't you have two other complaints on here whinning about credit card debt? Get a life> Are you trying to scam people? Don't you ahve insurance? That is what it is for. I have had State arm for forty years and ahve never had a problem. I pulled into a gas station once in a little Chevy and there was a large old orange truck infront of me. Well, this teenage girl was busy flirting with the gas stationa ttendant and started to back up and hit me. She stopped, and I got out and asked her her name and insurance and such. And I gave her mine. Well about an hour later the mother called and said that they did not want to go through their insurance and would pay for the damage themselves. I tild her that I was going to give the info to my insurance company (State Farm) anyway. State Farm contacted the father who was the registered owner to fine out who thier insurance company was ( the ditzy daughter did not know) They kept stalling and stalling and not giving State Farm any insurance info. Well, State Farm did some research and found out taht the father was a truck driver for some food delivery place and they threatened to pull his license if they did ntog et the information. Needless to say, they got the info. My insurance payed the damage and then went after their insurance for the money. THat is one reason why you ahve insurance. If I had tried to get the info myself I never would have gotten it oe the money.

So what's the ripoff on this one?

You caused an accident and you were expected to pay for the damage you casued. There is nothing even remotely inferring that you are a criminal by requesting that. That's the law apparently. We already have a world-is-out-to-get-me retard on the site....we really don't need another.
