I was wanting to find an old girlfriend of mine, so I did a search on "Peoplesearch.com". With no luck I was only able to locate her name and state she was born. But for a fee ranging between $20.00 and $100.00 I could get all of her current info. Well I knew I could not affored that I mean with X-Mas right around the corner. So I clicked one of the partner links they had called.

"www.reunion.com" . I thought what the heck I'll click the link and check it out. Well it had already pulled her current address and phone number and displayed it on the screen. At the very bottom there was a link with a price to find this search. It stated ...."Only $2.00 a month"join now".

well needless to say I clicked, signed in, gave my check card number over the phone, and called the bank too.

HAPPENED TO ME TOO

Samuel,
This also just recently happened to me.
I made sure I read the wording very clearly and I also did what you did.
I checked the box that said only $ 3.oo/monthly for 12 months. I had 3 other people read it too just to make sure that is what it said and 2 days later $ 36.00 was pulled outta my bank from my check card.

I wrote them an email my response was that is what it is broke down to monthly and if "I had read it right" I waould have understood that.
And that my membership is nonrefundable under no circumstances.

Just to let you know MAKE SURE you go into my account on there and click auto renewal and take it off they have it there without your knowledge and if you dont click that when your membership is coming to an end the will charge you again for another membership without your knowledge and you cant do anyting about that either.
VERY BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have sent e-mail to their Customer Support and received an e-mail that they will not respond for 5-7 days. I did the same thing. $2.00 to join and just checked my bank account and they have taken out $72.00. Maybe it is time for Attorney General time

Same thing happened to me, dear. I chose the one year membership because the ad stated it was only $5/month. Never did it state that I would be charged $5/month for all twelve months ALL AT ONCE! I got charged $60 - I can't afford that! I could, however, afford $5 per month. I called that same day, and they said they wouldn't issue a full refund - they could only give me a partial refund. They charged me for only one month, rather than the entire year, and would process a refund for the rest. They also said it would take 7-10 usiness days for it to be credited back to my account. This was on Aug 31, 2008; it is now Sept. 12th, 2008. Not counting Aug. 31st, and not counting the weekends, it has been EXACTLY 10 business days. I called them up again, just now, and of course, no resolve. They want me to contact my credit card company and speak with them; if they say they haven't received their request, then I have to call reunion.com back and THEN they'll submit it manually, but not until Monday. So now I have to wait until MONDAY... I need my money back NOW.
