The planet sent me email three days before the deadline to cancel my account telling me they would issue credit for the month of December on the 1st which was the second installment of credit issued because they were down for an entire WEEK in June of 2008. I decided to wait to cancel my server lease since December was free.
Then on December 1st, they charged my checking account for the fee for DECEMBER. They justify this by explaining that the billing for December doesn't occur until the 28th, and that was the bill they would credit. However, they bill in advance. So I was charged for December on December 1st.
Anyway, they said the credit would appear the 1st, and they charged me on the 1st. They LIED. They also lie about their uptime. They were down for almost a week. A WEEK people. There are many, many, many better hosting and colocation companies than The Planet and believe me, almost all of them are better to deal with than these no service jokers. It took two days to talk to a human when they were down in June.
If you have critical applications, your gambling with the worst uptime in the nation.
