In June of 2000 I went to ugly duckling because I wanted to get a vehical and I thought they were the only ones who would get me into a vehical with my past credit history so I went ahead and purchased a 1994 Ford Ranger from them.
The first couple days everything worked great on the truck then I went to turn on the ac and noticed it did'nt work so I took It back up to the car lot and they told me I did'nt purchase any additional waranties so basicaly I was S.O.L.
I took my truck in to the shop to have the ac fixed on it and it ended up costing me like 175.00 dollars to have it fixed. After I had gotten my truck back my husbands and his friend started to really look over my truck thoughly. Well this is what they found wrong with the truck that ugly duckling failed to mention to me at the time of purchase.
The truck had been In a major accident prior to me buying It.
There used to be power steering prior, and you could see the place that the power steering box used to be, under the hood on one side of the truck where it had gotten hit was all new stuff.
wire, tape, even the front fender and paint.
Now when I purchased my truck I was not with my now husband so I did'nt have anyone to help me look for those things.
My husbands friend got up undernieth my truck and started saying
that what they did because they accident caused so much damage to the front and side of the passanger side of the truck was pieced it back together with good parts from other 94 rangers.
He said one way to tell is to look at all the vin # to make shure they match up well would'nt you know it they did'nt. He also said the bed of the truck was from a 96 ranger that had been put onto my 94 ranger.
Well about 1 in half years of having it. I get this strange phone call from someone at ugly duckling asking me for my insurance company name. I asked them why and she said { we need to know when your insurance company is sending us the check to pay off your loan due to the truck being totaled in a car accident. I did'nt say anything except that I would have to call back and give the info.
I never did call back and nothing has ever been done about it either. since then I have not made a payment and its been about 9 months They have not tryed to repo it no letters sent to me nothing,.
