After my run in with Williamsburg Homes, I went to consult with a Lawyer to see if I had a shot at getting my money back. I had given Williamsburg homes 3 grand and they were threatening me saying they were going to put my land back on the market which he denied. I trusted Mr.Blaney, my former tennis coach, to give me good advice whether I had to pay him or not. He advised me to go to small claims. I expressed my concern considering I did not have a copy of the contract. After going back and forth with Williamsburg, David Hayes told me his last offer was we both just walk away. I then ran home and searched for the contract. After finding it several weeks later, I ran back to Mr. Blaney. Asked him to read the contract and tell me if I had a fighting chance. He looking annoyed called in a Jessica Hoover, and asked her to take this cause he was on the school board with this guy. So I go back with her and I explain the goings on and give her a copy of the summary I had wrote down during every encounter with David Hayes. I told her If I could just get some one to read this contract and tell me if I have a fighting chance on getting my money back I would appreciate it. I told her about a law I read, if I read it correctly I have the right to get out of the contract since I can't get a loan. She looked at me and said yeah, I will put myself in as your acting lawyer and see what I can do. A week later I'm notified that my small claims is no longer small claims I'm being sued for 16 grand now. She comes back with his last offer which is to both just walk away. Shocked I asked her if we could maybe counter offer...him pay lawyers fees (which were never discussed with her as far as how much I would pay her) She said it's a take it or leave it deal. There was a clause in the contract. So not only was I ripped off my Williamsburg but now Jessica Hoover a lawyer I never officially said I wanted to hire, she just jumped in, is now sending me bills for 1500.00 I haven't paid her at all because all she did was get me a deal I told her I already had gotten and the fact that I had never really officially hired her. Plus she never did what I would have officially hired her for which was to READ THE CONTRACT. Now they are sending me bills for 1500.oo
