I had a phone call yesterday Sept 18 from a man named James Wooten from United Legal Investigation Bureau saying that if I did not contact them at 646-213-1090 in Manhattan NY, police officers would be coming to my house to arrest me in the next few hours because I had committed fraud. He told me it was a life and death situation and I would be in prison.
I called the number back and he proceeded to tell me I had taken out a payday loan w/ Midland Marketing Payday Loans, which I have never heard of. He also told me that Midland had a lawsuit against me and I owed them $700 but if I gave him my credit card information he would settle w/ me then for only $500. I told him I would be contacting an attorney and calling Midland. He gave me the name of the "president" of Midland Marketing which was Eric Johnson.
Now, these are American names but neither one of the gentlemen I talked w/ were American. They sounded like they were from the middle east. I called Eric Johnson at 323-928-4377 in Hollywood CA. He told me that I had taken out a payday loan w/ this company and had not paid it back and he was taking action against me for that money and that if I didn't pay it today he would make sure my picture was on every newspaper and every website in the world, and he was going to exploit me for the cheater that I am.
I told him I would be contacting an attorney and I had already contacted police, he then started yelling and telling me to shut up and get lost. These people had my name, address, phone number, social security number, driver's license number and bank account number. How they got this information, I do not know. I have never taken out a payday loan on the internet or anywhere else. They are cheaters and scammers and we need to bring these towel heads to justice and stop them from coming into OUR country and trying to take our money.
