I was asked a couple of years back in locate one of the women he dealt with. I work as both a private investigator on the side & as a full time police officer by trade. I can legally only speak to the DIRECT experiences I had with him...but they certainly follow the pattern of tales reported here.
For my part I was looking for a daughter who had moved out here fresh and clean and with desires to become an actress. She had disconnected with her family and they were worried and hired me to find her. I did so shortly afterwards, and sure enough she was working as a stripper as a fairly low class establishment near LAX and living with Ron.
She was an adult and this of course was her choice, but he seem to provide the avenue for this and while promising to enhance her career, allowed her to work as a stripper. I found it interesting that if he had been serious about her career, so much so as to ask her to leave behind family, friends, school etc...yet he would allow her to work in such a negative image public forum, that would only hurt most womens chances of bigger things. With rare exception is a full time stripper going to hit it big in the serious recording on acting industries.
As part of my investigation, I found nothing to show that Ron is a licensed talent agent...that requires background checks and other safeguards, which I don't believe he could stand up to the scrutiny of.
He does however purport to be a personal manager, which requires little or nothing other than an agreement with a client and you declaring yourself so.
I also launched a undercover investigator at him, to see forst hand how he operates. She fit his criteria for "new talent". She pretended to have an oppressive family, be new to the area, and not very informed about the industry.
Sure enough as I monitored their meeting he asked her to disrobe on the first meeting and was willing to help her career if she helped him right now. He later claimed she came on to him, but since I heard everything I KNOW this was not the case.
This was handled as a private investigation, however I later explored the possibility of criminal violations. Ron stayed just to the legal edge of committing a crime and did not do anything I saw or heard that would allow for a criminal case. Some of the cases I am reading through might have some civil liability though.
He relies on promises, a degree of pressure, the desire of naive or inexperienced young women to "break" into the entertainment industry. His motives are his own, and from the experiences of others seem pretty obvious.
He is quite a bit older than his photo on the website suggests. I am thinking AARP eligible. His web site has not changed significantly in at least a couple years, and his projects seem about the same too. Nothing succeeds like success, and he seems to have no problem attracting girls that he can manipulate as those claims above.
Use due caution...if it sounds fishy, it probably is...remember...if you hit it big, he hits it big...were he a legitimate manager, he would want nothing from you but success because that is how a legitimate manager makes a living. You do not need to dump family, friends, boyfriends, school, or other jobs to be successful in entertainment...anyone that wants you to do that is likely trying to isolate you and manipulate you into something else.
Heed the experiences of others and myself on this fella. He is one step away from the sinister guy waiting at the bus depot with the casting room couch nearby.
