The owner of the mobile home passed away owing 4 more years on the home, had paid $14,000 down and paid on it for 6 years. I, the owner's sister, was told I could transfer the loan in my name. I didn't know anything about it and depended on them to help me. About a month or two went by before I finally found out the details and was told I could take over payments if I paid $900. I agreed and got a certified check. In the meantime, I came across Rip-off reports on this company (various states). Still I intended to do it.

Then when it was time, another agent told me, at the last minute, that I hadn't been legally declared his heir by the court (which would have taken much longer). He said that I could just make the payments for 4 years and then have the title transferred the same way I would a car title. I checked, and that is not so. If I had sent the $900 check, it would have just been gone. I believe they had every intention of repossession anyway, even 4 yrs. from now. I couldn't see why. It seemed easier for all parties if they just transferred the loan to me where I could pay it off.

It has been 6 months, but they finally moved or took the home this week. Apparently, the second hand sale is more lucrative than I had imagined. I would have gladly paid it off for my brother's sake since he had put so much into it, and the home was sitting on my land anyway.

I really believed the people I talked to at that company. They seemed to really sumpathize with my loss. Now I see that all those complaints on Rip-off were true. If I hadn't googled the company name & complaints and found Rip-off, I would at the very least be $900 poorer.
