I bought a pool and spa package at Paddock in 05/2000. It was $35,912. I pay $339.54 per month for 240 months. They promised a great pool for the price and said because it was a lot more money than the competitors I could expext the best quality.

Well they tore up my yard front and back, shot concrete on my neighbors house(and refused to clean it up) they also damaged his landscape which I had to fix to keep piece between us.

Nothing but problems. The tile was never finished , they we're supposed to clean off the nerky coating from the grout and never did. Through the install the tiler was repitively coming up with emergencies and had to leave telling me another customers pool had to be finished.

Well the lack of Paddocks job foreman checking in on this pushed the completion date from 7/15/2000 to apprx. 9/2000 just to the end of that summers swim season.

The tile also had to be refinished in several areas from not being level and also just falling off the pool walls in several locations.

They ripped me off for whats called the PC 2000 a self cleaning built in system. In three years I've had to exchange pump parts and put several dollars in chemicals to try and keep the pool clean.

Well after all the arguing they finally came out for a fee and fixed the cleaning system siting the original contractor installed the wrong size nozzle causing the housing to my pumps and motor to explode several times.

So after three years of headaches I went to the store where I purchased the pool and the manager called the owner of Paddock up. Ed Gizz. They promised to come out and fix the tile grout , cracks in the deck, flush the broken chunks of tile from my system, exhange the diving board base that has rusted (prematurely), and fix all the plumbing problems.

Well they said they would send their best man out , Gene, how funny Gene was the super for the original construction. Well Gene was supposed to be her bright and early one day in October and I took the day off from work to meet him. He quietly showed up and put a sorry I missed you card on my door. I got about 5 of those during the original construction.

I called the main office and they explained that he'll show up in 2 more weeks and this time he would specifically use the door bell , a practice they don't like to use because it may bother some customers. Well they never showed up.

If you are thinking about buying a pool, please don't use Paddock , I have pictures of their version of quality if you'd like to see them email me. They're a rotten company who'll only respond to threats of lawsuit. They had their chances to make good but refuse to. A simple case of Take The Money And Run.

In defensive of Paddock, I too had a pool built in 2000! We contracted in Feb with construction complete in late April 2000. Several meetings occurred prior to construction.

The design/cost/construction/cleanup was exactly as stated in negotiations. Our family and friends have been very pleased with the entire process.

Of course we were very lucky to be able to oversee each step and had gone through 4 other companies to decide who we would use and also to do a cost analysis of each stage. We were very much involved in each stage of the building and completion.

We were extremely pleased with their customer service and professionalism of each team present. We also realized that they SUB contract with various vendors and they too were very satisfactory.

Paddock reinforces PR with any vendors they use. Since then, we have purchased various items and services from them. We have had problems with maintenance of a heater installed. We have had defective furniture, and also purchased a Sundance Spa from them. It only took one call and the warranties were honored within a two week time frame. Soon we will be out of warranties but have followed every recommendation made by Paddock to the letter.

If we have future problems after the warranty, we know we did not properly care for the pool and/or things wear out! I too have worked Customer Service and find that most problems arise because the listening skills are lacking and the one listening is too busy thinking of the next line and not "hearing" enough to ASK THE PROPER QUESTION. Informed and restated comments are necessary especially when dealing with an area that a consumer has spent little time researching.

It has now been 4 years and WE LOVE PADDOCK! So much so....I am happy to say, I recently went to them for an accouting position. The staff is wonderful inside as they are warm to the public. Have problems with someone or something, half the problems we create, we look to someone else to blame!

I have made 4 referrals over the past 3 years and each one has been very pleased with their Paddock experience!

Many years ago when my wife & I lived in the Phoenix area we went 'shopping' for a swimming pool. At the 1st place we stopped in Scottsdale, they totally ignored us. We continued to Thomas Road and went to Paddock Pools.

We were greeted by a friendly knowledable salesman who took us inside, designed a pool for us based on our approximate backyard measurements. He suggested a self-cleaning system, then called the Pool Valet, (?), which was a pop up cleaning system. We bought it also.

Our construction went BEAUTIFULLY, I recommended Paddock to many of my friends as I was TOTALLY PLEASED with the job well done. MANY years later, I even went to work for Paddock Pools, (designing and selling pools), based upon my experience many years earlier. I found the Paddock to be a top notch company with FAST, freindly, competent customer service and construction! Later I moved to California and the Paddock Pools Sales Manager even helped my to secure a job with one of their competitors, California Pools & Spas! I can only say GOOD things about my experience with Paddock Pools & Spas! As a salesman, I found Paddock, & CA Pools & Spas to be honest, upright and both companies had the best Engineering Team I have ever seen! Helpful, no short cuts, and plenty of attention to detail to complete the job to the customer's SATISFACTION! Sorry you had a bad experience, sir.

I purchased a pool and spa package from Paddock in Feb 2006 with a promise that the pool whould be completed around the end of May 2006. As I write this my pool is still not completed and I have no spa it is now Sept 11 2006. So much for swimming this summer. I am amazed by the lack of communication with every person involved with this project. I have spent many days this summer trying to track down someone to find the status of construction. I rarely get anyone to answer the phone and end up leaving voice messages with the promise of the person returning my call within 24hrs. On numerous occasions I never received a call back and the times when someone did return my call it was usually days not hours before my call was returned. I have calls in to both departments currently and still have neard from no one.

From a constuction standpoint they have completely destroyed my yard, my drip system, and my front yard with no indication that they have any intention of repairing anything. I ordered a gate to be installed in the wall they tore down prior to construction, I arrived home a couple of weeks ago to find the wall put back up and no gate. After speaking to the construction foreman he told me that they would be putting a gate in, I'm keeping my fingers crossed. The spa division is even worse I cannot get the salesman on the phone, I was told that I should call him 5 weeks prior to completion of the pool so he could get the spa built. He told me that the spa would take 3-5 weeks to be completed. It has now been 8 weeks since I spoke to him, you guessed it no spa!! I have now called him several times in the last few days and can't get him on the phone, so I leave messages. No return call yet.

All I can say is this has been the worst 40 thousand dollar investment I've ever made. Unfortunately purchasing a pool is not something I do every day so it's difficult to tell them that you will never buy from them again and instill any fear. They basically have you by the ****. If I ever am in a position to purchase another pool I will not be calling them.

This is Jim in Chandler again. I just had one more thing to say. Has anybody noticed that the only two positive responses came from Paddock employees. Where are the positives from real customers. Also I spoke to Ed Gizz's assistant yesterday regarding my concerns which apparently aren't their concerns. I was told that it stated in my contract that they were not responsible for putting the yard back in the condition that it was in prior to construction, which was pristine. I searched the contract and can't find anything in the contract that says they have the right to destroy my yard and then leave it that way. It must have been written between the lines or in a language I can't understand because it's not there in english. Her attitude was also that she couldn't understand why I am complaining because the pool is scheduled for completion this week and by the way they found my spa sitting in their wherehouse and it will be delivered this week.

Evidently according to them I have no right to complain that it took 3 1/2 months longer than they promised after all they we're very busy this summer like that is my problem. It would have been nice if someone, anyone from the company called me during the whole process to explain the delays. Instead I sat at times for more than a month with no progress being made and no one ever called me. amazingly every time I initiated a call to them a crew was out withing a couple of days, I wonder where I would be if I never called them.

The only way I got a response from anyone yesterday was when in complete frustration I wrote them an e-mail which apparently landed on Ed Gizz's desk. Not that it helped much all I got were excuses, but miraculously they did find my spa...yeah! I could go on and on, but I'm sure that Jim in Gilbert and I are not the only dissatisfied Paddock customers, they need to be directed to this site. Ok I'm done, I hope my pool will be too because I guess I need to call in a landcape contractor to clean up this me and replace the plants Paddock killed, put in a new drip system, blah, blah , blah... I wonder what that will cost me. Thank You Paddock for your concern and customer service I would love to find every potential new Paddock customer and forward this to them.

Unfortunately, my pool is being built by Paddock Pools. It all began in May when we get permits. It is now late December and we're barely now almost complete. During this time we've sustained damage to my neighbor's property line (twice) had various areas of the pool repaired more than a few times and can't get a meeting with Mr. Ghiz, who is the owner of Paddock Pools. The reason for this per his assistant is he wants to wait until the construction has been completed and he would like to have everything he needs so he is prepared. What a crock of ****. He has given no indication whatsoever he is even interested in meeting with me (Funny how an owner doesn't want to meet a customer regarding his company) For anyone who is looking for a pool company, I will never recommend Paddock Pools for the nightmare it has caused for my wife and I.

BEWARE! PADDOCK POOL OWNERS

I am an ex employee of paddock pools, and I have some inside info on their PCC 2000 in floor cleaning systems.Anybody who's pool was built between November 1996 and all throughout 1997 need to be informed that paddock pools built hundreds of pools throughout the valley in that time with defective parts on their PCC 2000 in floor systems.The pieces that are defective is underneath the pool shell and is part of the underground plumbing for the pool cleaning systems .

We use to call them the defective 90's,they attach to the pop ups directly under the shell of the pool. Paddock pools even knows that these 90's are defective and does not care.After they break paddock pools will charge the home owners anywhere from $350.00-$600.00 to repair each 90.On top of that expense they insist that you get a leak detection company to locate which usually runs between $300.00-$750.00

What happens is that after a while they just discentigrate and break,and your pool will rapidly loose water and wash out the underside of your pool leaving huge hollow spots under the shell. There will be a big patch on the floor of the pool and structure damage to the shell.Then after the repair usually within 5-6 months,and I've even seen it happen within 2-3 days, there will be another one or two 90's that break. This causes an even bigger hollow spot and eventually the pool will start to crack in the shell, causing the pool to leak though the shell. I know all this info first hand, being that I fixed several hundred of these defective 90's, during my 5 year employment for them.

I even had a few homeowners personal attorneys call me asking to record our conversations about these 90's. Being under employment at the time for paddock I had to lie and say that it was from expansive soil. I wanted to tell the truth to people, but was scared of loosing my job if I told the information I knew.

Now that I'm not an employee for them anymore I want the truth to be known, for the consumers out there to beware of this situation.I still work in the pool industry and still run into homeowners who's pool was built by paddock during the time from 1996-1997, and I am still fixing these defective 90's. It feels good to now be able to tell people about these defective 90's, and to tell them how dishonest paddock pools really is.
