Rick Pamplin, owner of Pamplin Film Company has been soliciting investors for over 10 years in and around Central Florida. He has raised nearly a million dollars for one project in particular called, "Crimebusters". This money was called "develop money" and in the contract he had investors sign, it states that the these investors will get their money back on the first day of shooting. Well, the first day of shooting began back in December of 2007. Of course, Rick never completed the film, as it was only to receive the Florida incentive program money, which eventually backfired on him anyway. Rick and his bulldog lawyer, Bill Whitacre whose credentials include the Blair Witch Project, of which he was only apart of but didn't really get the deal for the producers another LA lawyer lays claim to that fact, have been keeping all investors at bay with double talk and offensive posturing. Rick claims to be a christian however, in sworn statements has admitted to taking interns to strip clubs. These statements can be accessed at the Orange County Courthouse. In other words, several folks have lost life savings and can not afford to even seek legal action against him as he has a lawyer on staff. Which, I'm sure, was his goal. He is now raising money for other films and they can be accessed on his website as well. Avoid this scam artist, Lou Pearlman isn't the only one in Central Florida ruining it for everyone else. Rick Pamplin, an Ameriplan network marketer has been promising young actors to join Ameriplan through him and he will give them a role in his movies. He has yet to complete a full length feature in 10 years. Rick Pamplin is living off investor's money.
