I recently upgraded from dialup to high-speed DSL. On July 28, 2008 I recieved an official looking pop-up message saying that my computer was infected by several viruses and worms. I proceeded to use their scanning demo program and decided to purchase the Antivirus 2009 Program for 49.95. When I received the invoice I was charged an additional 60.00.
After I received the invoice I called the customer service number provided and made a formal complaint for the added charges for Alpha Wipe Tracks Cleaner 2008 in the amount of 34.95 and the Premium Support Service for the amount of 24.95. The customer service agent agreed to request 60.00 be refunded back to my debit card account.
After I finished talking to the customer service agent I received a phone call from my financial institution that put a freeze on transaction number 8669231420 for the amount of 109.85 from onebills.com. I then contacted my financial institution and closed out my debit card account and tried to cancel the Antivirus 2009 program.
