I ran across this letter from ABW Corp. to a company called
Nationwide Real Estate Tax Service. It has to do with Nationwide, who is larger than ABW Corp, bad mouthing them.
ABW Corp. is a recent start-up company. They offer tax service to lenders. They also do Natural Hazard Disclosure Reports for Real Estate Agents. Because they are a new start-up, they have to go out there and really compete for business. Nationwide, who is also conducts the same type of business, heard about this small little company and realize the threat.
They realize that ABW Corp was offering a better service, better
product, at a far lower price. Nationwide did the best they could on matching the price, but was unsuccessful. Nationwide now has lost several large clients to ABW Corp.
Nationwide fought back, but fought back in the wrong way. By bad mouthing ABW Corp., ABW Corp. has lost some clients back to
Nationwide. After ABW Corp. learned of the allegations made from Nationwide towards ABW Corp., Nationwide recently received this letter:

This letter is being directed to you on behalf of our client
ABW Corporation, Mr. Roy Walling, Debra Lynn and the staff,
employees and agents of ABW Corp. Please contact your legal consul
at once.
It has come to our attention that your staff has been making
statements concerning both the financial health of ABW as well as commenting on the character of it's employees and staff. Besides the fact that this is childish and beneath any organization that hold itself out to be professional in the real estate field, it is also actionable.
To refer to your competitors as "Crooks, Criminals, and Frauds" when this is malicious and untrue. It can, and will results in a suit being filed against your company. Whatever personal feelings you have regarding these people gives you no license to act in such a manner as to do both economic and emotional harm to them.
I am advising you to cease and desist forthwith.,

Obviously Nationwide is scared, and all they can do is scream,
bitch and moan about their competitors. But the client base is
listening and listening very well. As a result of this letter,
several clients have now left Nationwide.
As you can read, if you compete against a bigger company, and your company is better, all they can do is badmouth you. And when the dusts settle, it's the little guy who wins.
