My wife and i went into this furniture store to look at two recliners that were in their ad. We looked at and decided to purchase the recliners. We askes the salesman how much delivery would be. He stated that there is a special for 89.00 they would deliver up to 50 miles from the store and set them up.
We decided that this would be worth eliminating the hassle of carrying the boxes upstairs and removing them from the cartons and assembling them. We completed the transactions and they said we could expect a call from the delivery company within a few days.
The same day we goat a call from the salesman and he said we were to pay an additional 30.00 for delivery because of our location. I told him that we are 29 miles from the store and I can provide him with a Mapquest to prove it. He said that didn't matter and because the city that my mailing address is to is more than 50 miles away. He wouldn't even listen to the fact that I am in a rural error and I am actually closer to Canton Ga which is in a different county than my mailing address is in.
He stated that the transportation company told him that because my mailing address was Whit I would have to pay that distance and that he knew exactly where ny house was.
I then told the salesman to credit my card for the delivery and we will pick up the chairs. He was willing to do this but first he tried to tell me that I would be charged 30 percent because that is the store policy if you cancel a transaction. I argues with him that he or the transportation company misled me and i shouildn't have to pay.
What is fishy about this whole thing is that he told me the transportation company only delivers Monday-Friday and we would have to pick up uhe furniture on Thurs from 12-2 PM. If they only work Mon thru Fri. how did this all come up on a Sunday.
Be careful with this company they are just out to make a buck on delivery charges.
