Ok Charles, let's do it again.
”#1 You are to full of Malice.”
Unfortunately for you Charles, my “malice” as you put it exists for a reason, is accurate and your constant defense of these people makes you full of something else.
#2 You state: "...TSR might slip up and tell an inconvenient truth." <--- I like how all of your counter points are just an appeal to authority. You almost never follow up with a legitimate factual piece of information. What is NME hiding by using the scripts??? IT IS TRUE THAT THE SCRIPT GOES IN GREAT LENTH OT EXPLAIN TO THE CUSTOMER WHAT IS GOING ON. If its not Chuck? What are we hiding?”
Not hiding in so much as exaggerating or not revealing all the facts for the real reasons; for example, the line “the Sweepstakes is held primarily for major credit card holders is a lie, the SWEEPSTAKES, BY LAW, is open to anyone who calls in, that statement is designed to set up for the next question about the carrying of a current credit card, CORRECT?
The REBUTTAL regarding phone numbers is an outright lie, that is designed to give information to the marketing partners all other correspondence is done by CERTIFIED MAIL, right Charles? Want more facts? Contact the Oregon Attorney General and ask him about such things as obeying the TSR Laws of the states in which you want to do business, etc..
”#3 You state: "...4 rebuttals..." <--- It's 3”
Our mutual friend told me that 4 were now required, if it has been changed back to three I stand corrected.
”#4 Ad Hominem... "I already knew you have never heard of Outbound." <--- I was trying to help someone out, NME does not make outbound calls to random people out of the blue, they do not buy lists, call people, and pitch magazines. THEY CALL CURRENT CUSTOMERS.”
That is not the truth Charles. They also call those who said no, those who cancelled, those who CLAIMED no Credit Card and those who lapsed. They also both buy and sell lists Charles, even though NLE (National LIST Exchange) no longer “officially” exists as they were absorbed by Willis, Stein. They make HUGE amounts of money in the list business. They are CONSTANTLY buying new lists to keep their database fresh. It has also been reported that they run “soft” credit checks to find potential new customers that way.
”#5 You state: "Don't you just HATE how the bonuses keep slipping by every year..." <--- This really has nothing to do with the product we sell and its quality. The Pay reduction affected my paycheck by less that 5 dollars.”
If you truly are not in management, then the question regarding the bonus would be without meaning to you. Ask your Manager. As a verifier if your check was “ONLY” changed by $5.00, then consider yourself one of the fortunate few. How many people, both labor AND SUPERVISORS walked out a few weeks ago because of their pay? Are you telling us they were being unreasonable?
Tell me Charles, JUST HOW MUCH money are they going to have to rip YOU off for before you begin to get a clue as to the company's real moral center $10.? 20? 50? What is your limit? How much financial sodomy will you endure? Fifty cents is too much for me. And why do you employ misdirection and launch into product defenses all the time? I was referring to morale and how that can effect Customer Relations.
”*The sweepstakes is Real in Texas too.”
REALLY? When was the last $25,000. “Win a Dream” Sweepstakes winner drawn? I would like to know. No one else in the company seems to know, do you? They possibly wouldn't have drawn the last Million Dollar winner last month, had I not brought the lack of a winner to the… attention of a few of those three letter Federal Agencies that love to drop by SDP from time to time.
*Magazines are a great deal, no matter the magazines you chose. No matter what the company pays. There is absolutely no Combination of magazines you can chose and get a "bad deal." PERIOD. Prove me wrong.”
I have NEVER said the magazines are a bad deal so stop acting like a simpleton and putting words in my mouth Charles. I simply stated some deals are better than others, such as a package of weekly magazines versus a package of magazines published say, quarterly.
”*I don't know why your hell bend on asserting that information is left out or any aspect of the presentation is not explained. I challenge you EXPOUND on what exactly is left out.”
You are repeating yourself Charles. I answered that one earlier - discussion ended.
”*Ad hominem...AGAIN. "Now go report back to Bill and Brady, wag your tail and get your treat." I've never personally spoken to either of the mentioned. In fact, your Friend and mine, Karen (the "Union" supporter.), inspired me to surf over.”
I can't say if you do or don't. I don't care, get your treat from whichever master you answer to there.
”((Side Track)) I asked Karen if she could change anything what would she change. She said, "When I get taken to be disciplined I want to take a witness." Which basically translates to taking a friend to watch. Either way, the witness is partial and the legitimacy of any claim Karen makes is not strengthened.”
Then why not allow it Charles? Why do you defend the practice of your co-workers being ganged up on by Management without a means of self-defense. The Company you love so much consists of cowards in Management positions.
“Which basically translates to taking a friend to watch …”
NO, it is a WITNESS to prevent the company from lying! Why not give people copies of disciplinary reports? Why not give employees the option to actually confront their accusers? Why have TWO SEPARATE SETS of personnel files? Why “profile” and harass employees? Why don't they get copies of their own timesheets? WHY Charles???
========Rebuttal Two========
”Remit... What the company pays has no bearing on the quality of the product. The package is amazing, simply put. what the Fast Food restaurants pays for its burgers, fries, and drink is drastically less than what it charges. The Focus is on what it charges... The rate at which NME sell its magazine package cannot be beat.”
And Your point is?
”Caveat Emptor: The axiom or principle in commerce that the buyer alone is responsible for assessing the quality of a purchase before buying. Let's let the buyer decide. Well even go with the base 5 (Customers really end up with 10 magazines.) 5 Magazines for 1.29/wk the ability to change the magazines at any time and at no extra cost, for any reason. You get Maxim, you don't like it, switch. “
And your point is? (Interesting no mention of Buyers are Liars isn't it folks?)
”MATH TIME
I'm going to put together a random scenario.
Magazines...Newsstand per issue...# Issues in 4 yrs...Newsstand price 4yrs... sub-rate subscription cost 4yrs
Better Homes...$3.50...#12...#48...$168.00...$95.80
Star Magazine...$3.29...#52...#208...$684.32...$255.20
JANE Magazine...$3.50...#10...#40...$140.00...$40.00
Road and Track...$4.50...12...48...$216.00...$40.00
Home Magazine...$2.99...#10...#40...$119.60...$48.00
Totals:
Cost per issue Newsstand: $17.78
# of Issues per year: 96
# of Issues for 4 years: 384
Newsstand Price for 4 years: $1,327.92
Sub-rate Subscription Cost for 4 Years: 489.00
NME PRICE FOR 4 YEARS: 268.32”
And your point is? For the 50th time Charles, I have NEVER said the magazines are a bad deal. This is the LAST time I am addressing that issue with you, pay ATTENTION. Incidentally, the company's actual COST for any package regardless of how many magazines is STILL $6.00 or less. I am a Capitalist Charles (WITH that capital “C”) I do not begrudge companies a profit, not even SDP.
I am going to ignore much of the rest of your diatribe and skip to the bottom, it is either repetitive or simply a jumble of meaningless phrases and incoherent conclusions.
”I'd support the Union myself, but there's no point. NME is better than most companies.”
Charles, now you have REALLY stepped into the “Twilight Zone”. If you really believe that you must be VERY inexperienced in life, naive, clueless, wet behind the years, or, forgive my bluntness, just plain stupid. SDP has one of the worse reputations of any employer in the Tampa Bay area hands down, call the Division of Consumer Affairs, FTC, the State Attorney General, do not take MY word for it. No company that is worth a damn has to run quarter page ads in the St. Petersburg Times looking for employees EVERY SINGLE WEEK. No, Charles they are not expanding, they wouldn't be renting out space within the building if they were. Take one of those verifier paychecks of yours and buy yourself a clue.
“Even Karen was at a loss for the great and magical benefits we'd get. I've never been mistreated in anyway, and I personally know a bunch of supervisors/managers/trainers and they seem like awesome people to me. And everyone I talk to has had only good experiences. I'll ask Karen what's happened to her when I see her.”
You will have to Charles. I cannot and will not speak for Karen, she knows how to access this site. And she more than knows how to speak for herself.
Off the top of MY head, I'd go for benefits of Unionization with, real health benefits like those the company ONCE provided, stable wages, no employer harassment, end of “employment at will”, worker rights, the right to bargain collectively, no favoritism, “Weingarten Rights in disciplinary hearings, retirement benefits, genuine grievance abilities – but again that is only off the top of my head.
”Chuck it's not as bad as you say.”
Charles, you cannot and will not speak for me. I have FORGOTTEN more about that company, its operations, its practices and its philosophies than you will EVER know.
“I hope you don't get an ulcer or something.”
LOL I don't GET ulcers Charles – I GIVE them, mostly to SDP Management.
Best wishes to you too, you will need them where you work.
